You know what absolutely sucks?
Trying to take that perfect diet you had going in high school, and making it work in college.
Im running into a few problems:
first off, at the university im going to, you are required to purchase their meal plan if you live in the dorms. At first I figured, "oh thats not so bad, I can probably find something in the cafeteria that fits my needs"
then all of a sudden.... guess again. So far every day I've had a choice between 2 things:
1. Carbohydrates up the ass
2. Pure junk food
so basically i've been bringing food with me and eating it in the cafeteria, lol. tuna and oats.
I had a long talk about this with my parents, since the meal plan is worth around 1000 bucks, and they said that they didnt mind if I didnt eat at the cafeteria except for stuff like fruit, and on the occaisonal day that had something else that fit my diet.
so apparently they are okay with the money waste and will pay for half of the food I buy at the grocery store.
But this is still a dillema, because im a lot busier in college than i was in highschool, and i find myself constantly going back to my dorm just to eat my 6 friggin meals, it feels like i have to constantly worry about food.
the thing that really sucks tho and makes it complicated is that i dont have a kitchen. i have like a bowl, some silverware, and a sink that I walk down the hall to, and I have a tiny ass fridge in my room, that holds maybe 3 days worth of food, lol.
anyways this absolutely sucks.
my family has been tellin me that i would be a lot less stressed and crap if i just lived with the cafeteria food, but i dont know what kind of effect that will have on my health. they obviously dont know anything about protein needs, etc.
and everyone is suggesting i cut down from 6 meals a day, but im scared that my metabolism will get shot if I try that.
I dunno, i wanna look at least somewhat attractive all thru-out college, and im wondering how much rigidness i can afford to give up, if any.
