as of late, my progress has been slowing down, and i feel it'll grind to a halt if i don't do something fast. my idea is: incorporating deadlifts into my routine. now, you might think: why didn't he think of that before? well, 'cause my back was busted up a couple years ago, and deads are quite dangerous. even so, i want to try a variation, by picking the bar up from a bench, instead of the ground. is this a good idea, or will it completely kill the effect of the exercise? keep in mind that i've never ever done deads in my life before. i'm goin' nowhere fast, someone help me out!
oh yeah, i've tried switching up routines and everything, no dice. it's just that everyone seems to agree that deads are ESSENTIAL, which makes me want to try it.

Top position deads are good.

Full deads are better.

Think about power cleans or clean grip high pulls.

you'll have to forgive me for sounding like a complete and utter ignorant retard, but; what are top position deads? (i'm guessin' it's my own idea, ie lifting it from the bench) also, are singles maybe a good idea for me (taking my bad back into consideration) final question; on which day should i do 'em (back day sounds most logical to me)

well tried 'em today....just couldn't get the right "feel" for 'em....FUCK!!! this is annoying me

Why not take a 2 week break and come back fresh and recuperated?

And your body will be soft and ready to gain again.

It's okay man, try not to get frustrated. Start with just the bar. As gay as that sounds, it is nothing to be ashamed of. Perfect your form and begin to add weight, little by little. You'll get the hang of it.

i think i know what to do; i'll take some time off, and while doing that, i'll perfect my deadlift form using just the bar...cause i'm really getting irritated.
well, thnx for the suggestions people!
