need help finding a job

Well I am a college student who is home for the summer in a new location. Parents moved so I don't know the area at all. and dont have any connections. I want to work a construction job or other good paying labor job but how does some one apply for one these spots? And I have sales experiance but is working at a car dealership a good or bad choice?

for construction, the best way to get a job is by knowing someone, next best way to get in is to walk up to the boss man on the job and tell him your loooking for a summer job and you'll bust you ass. no phone call will beat this, trust me. drive around and find them.

how the hell am i going to help you, if you dont know anyone in the area i sure in hell dont.

try the local unions, electrical, pipefitter, boilermaker, all the crafts have unions to join. or go down to the local unemployment office and register. they'll call for construction jobs. or just drive around and when you see some work going on just stop and ask if they are hiring, sound real energetic and enthusiastic.
