OK, in the beginning of Black Hawk Down, in one of the chopper scenes, there is a song playing that has a great guitar riff and the vocals sound like Hendrix but i'm not sure. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks, Iron

I would post a line if I remembered, but I'm not even sure if their was vocals to the song. I just remember the guitar riff. My friend said he thought it was hendrix but he wasn't sure. I guess i'll have to wait unitl it comes out on dvd and try and figure it out.

Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) originally by Hendrix, the Stevie Ray Vaughn version was used in the movie.

It's on his greatest hits volume 2, and Can't Stand the Weather.

Two people got the sond title wrong its Voodoo Child (Slight Return) not Voodoo Chile or Voodoo Lady.

actually there are two songs.
one is Voodoo Chile, and one is Voodoo Child (Slight Return).

they are both references to old blues songs and riffs and he has toyed with them over several albums (or rather, did).
the sound basically the same though.

there is a song, "I Wish I was a Catfish" (not exactly sure of the title, but that is really the main lyric - the title might just be "Catfish") that also plays on those same riffs.

also "Voodoo Lady" is by Ween.

Voodoo Child has been used in roughly every single war/helicpoter scene since ever since 'Nam.

great song, not technically hard to play, but you have to get the feeling right in order for the tone to be right.
