My dad always has issues dealing with stupid little nuisances and things never get done when it comes to these issues, so i'm trying to help him out.
he has an extra car that's been sitting in the drive way for 2 years. my mom used to use it to go to work since she works far from the house. she got into an accident and basically caused around $2k worth of damage (rear bumpre and a bunch of other shit need to be replaced)
it's a 2002 honda civic w/ under 50k miles on it. Book value if the car was in good condition would be around $8300. car is paid in full.
He's been paying insurance on it because in the state of NJ you have to pay insurance on a registered vehicle or else they suspend your license. so needs to get rid of the car....i was thinking of
A.) Selling it to a scrap yard for parts
B.) Donating it to charity...one of those auctions, and get a tax break on it.
C.) possibly fixing the car and reselling it
D.) selling it as is to the mexican landscaper who asked about it a few months ago
i've researched a bit but need to do more. just wanted to know what you guys thought was the smart choice.
at this point my dad probably just wants to get it out of his hair.
maybe online auction too? Dunno.
the car can not be driven right now, so it'd need to be towed/transported/picked up
