This might be a dumb Q...but can you get down to those super low bodyfat percentages W/O drugs?

If yes, then I guess the only reason peeps do cutting drugs just because it's easier or quicker than dieting?

Guess the same question can be asked of the OTC fat-burners....

Really long cuts using carb cycling, ultra low carbs plus refeeds, thermos, and lots of cardio.

I've dropped from an estimated 20% to a calipered 13% in the last three months. I'm natty so I am taking my time to preserve every ounce of lbm. This would all be a lot easier with hormonal assistance imo. My fat loss has stalled amd i do not want to cut any more kcal, so it looks like I will be bumping up my cardio to 45-60 minutes every day for the next few weeks. I am also about to start ECA.

going way down in the single digits with no drugs will result in major muscle loss for most do to genetics.

No true, when I was dieting my first season, I put on muscle during my comp prep.

My avatar is from my first season competing, and it is 100% natural, I didn't even use OTC fat burners in this picture.

I got to somewhere between 8-10%, which is very low for a woman.

I used carb cycling and carb tapering.

There is a physiological explanation for this: hunger stimulates ghrelin which triggers growth hormone.

I also know I am not the only natural that has experienced muscle growth during comp prep.

are you saying that the majority can still gain mass or at least hold 100% while cutting?

i do not see how this is possible. natty or juiced amature or pro it seems to me that the majority can not manage to hold 100% of their mass for a contest. using steroids and cutting drugs seems to be the sulution to keep the losses as low as possible. i do understand that there are some with the right genetics that are able to do this. but i think there are fewer of you.

Any positive benefit that may come from GH release is negated by the impact it has on fat metabolism....

Joe is right on this one. VERY few people can diet down to a very low BF% and not lose any muscle.

I would think that this would happen in approximately 10-15% of people.

You won't know if this is you unless you try it.

:)

I doubt it's that high, but you do have a point! If everyone just assumes themselves to be average, the few people that can take advantage of it won't!
