without a warrant for arrest or for entry to my clean house i would smile and close the door.
Eddy, excellent point! See there if I was LE I would have known that.

BUT is an IP address, your home address along with emails from your IP address showing your business transactions going to be enough to persuade a judge to issue a warrant? Personally I dont think so but you never know how far LE is going to want to push this.

Anyway, Im done here....

Peace

the biggest problem with this information they have is that it is old--a judge will not issue a warrant on stale information (in some circumstances stale can be days old). that is not to say that you will not get some harassment or that they will not watch the ip for new transactions.

I havent heard of any yet, but that doesnt mean it hasnt happened. I mean Im sure LE isnt going to come and post here how they just nabbed a xcustomer of "so and so".

Also Im so sick of hearing these know it alls on this baord, who just jopined in the past yr, post all day and have 1 cycle under theuir belts claim ," THEY WONT GO AFTER CUSTOMERS" OH YEAH, WELL HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW??????

If this were happening, you could find local stories through Google, or you would be hearing about it on the boards not from LE, but from others. Nobody has yet provided a link to a case of Joe User busted for conspiracy to buy without actual possession. Yeah, it may exist, and someday it might happen, and there may be flying pigs, too or they may fly in the future, but somehow this seems unlikely. You might get hit by a car tomorrow too. Big deal. You going to chew your nails and worry about it every day?

no way in hell are they gonna go after EVERY individual user....that would prolly be over 200,000 people!! i could see them going after individuals who bought HUGE quantities

Exactly right. Say there were 200,000 buyers in the States from all the labs, or let's say only 100,000 - a very conservative estimate. That would be 2000 per state. But large states like California or New York would be over represented since they have much larger populations -probably double that amount or more.
So by the logic of the hysterical fear-mongers on this board, the states are going to burden their LE and judiciary with investigating several thousands of cases with several thousands of subpoenas, warrants, etc. to catch little Joe User who is probably no longer in possession, and charge him with months old conspiracy, when nobody on this board can even find a case of conspiracy (for Joe User) without possession. Right. Very realistic.

Harley, LE literally has hundreds of thousands of emails to go through. From what I've read it's going to take months before they sort through all of them.
"Hundreds of thousands of e-mails were intercepted, according to Dan Simmons, a San Diego-based special agent for the DEA. Simmons said that no professional athletes have been implicated so far but that the e-mails are being compiled into a massive database of names and are being analyzed."

eddy... interesting.
What about the athletes that train for the Olympics, the collegiate athlete or the professional athlete, does that apply to them as well? Where does LE draw the line?

as far as protection from criminal prosecution-yes, they have the same rights as everyone else---however, what the respective governing bodies would do with the info is another matter alltogether (although I an usure if le could release that info to those orgs--real privacy issue).

Yes, I know that is what they said. It is a very large step from saying they are analyzing to analyzing, and an even larger step from analyzing and "identifying" to doing anything about it with respect to average Joe User.
