Why do they still stink so bad-even after you descent them?

Mine don't smell bad. I think it depends on if you clean their litter boxes 1-2 times a day. And bathe them no more than 2-3 times a year. If you wash them much, they overproduce oil and then smell funky. One of mine always smells like syrup. I don't really understand it.
