my upper pecs are too tight

Sub-Zero

High End Bro
Platinum
flexing my lats and forcing my shoulders back and upper body into good posture stretches my upper pecs so hard that i wake up very sore every morning even if i havnt worked chest.

its a problem iv slowly been fixing since i realized i had it, over christmas time.

Could be a unblanced body. Many people do pressing movements but rarley do enough pulling/rowing movements to build the back into balance.

major player in the back is lower middle traps and a muscle that lies under the lower/middle traps that pulls the shoulder blade towards the scapula the rhomboids.
The back consist of many muscles. Spinal erectors, lats, trap, rotatorcuff muscles ,lowerback Quadradis muscles, levator and neck muscles that run down to the shoulder blades.
The back is very complex http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/backanatomy4.php
I would suggest doing the incline bench rows with light weight and squeeze the should blade together and focus on the middle back to strenghten that area but still pay attention to the entire back.( facing down on a incline bench with dumbells extended out in front , shoulder blades rounded ,then performing a bent arm motion row brining elbows up to the back and as far back as they will go and trying to touch your shoulder blades together and holding it for a second then slowly lowering the weight and repeating untill the set is down , the key is to really squeeze those shoulderblades if you do not you will not target the rhomboids )

1. Make sure you are working hard on back day incase muscle imbalance is the culprit.

2. You may have some scar tissue built up in the pec and/or pec-delt tie-in. Find someone qualified in active release ( www.activerelease.com ) and go for a session. It hurts, but it works.

I don't even know what you are trying to tell us. I can't imagine the posture you are trying to attempt based on that description.

Get yourself a REAL massager (about $199 for a good one). Pound the shit out of your chest. Or get a myofascial roller and roll your chest.
