Hell, Im Fast?!? You beat me to posting on my own thread?!? Thats fast!

Anyway, my randoms thoughts regarding my meet.

SQ: I was as thrilled as a new father with the way my squat is finally increasing. I find the more weight I use the better my form looks. Thanks to IrishPower for recommending more GM work instead of box work for my weaknesses, and thanks toHannibal for correcting my form teaching me to keep a lean through the whole lift.
One thing on the squat I do need to work on is I do a little Elvis/Dieon Sanders gyration with my ass/hips when I rebound back up wit the weights. Anybody have suggestions why or what i need to do to cure this?

Bench: Shitty numbers I know, but I am back within 20lbs of my best before my shoulder wreck. Time to step up and learn a double denim. Thanks to KG18 for his help with liftoffs and getting my shirt on.

Deadlift: Used to be my pet lift, now the unthinkable has happend for me and Ive out-squatted my Dl. I plan on starting to do more narraow GM's, as I feel lower back strength is no longer my stron point.

Also plan to add in a little more sled work/ankle dragging now that the weather is warm, and beefing up my core strength.

Congratulations, VDOP. It's great to read about your meet PR's and continued improvment. Keep up the good work! I'm sure our paths will cross again in the not-so-distant future. Good luck!

SCREWBALL!!!>>

Where ya been man?!?
I was just wondering about you last week. I was flipping through the pics from the bikini contest at Eufala from last summer, and who caught my eye in one of the pics but Ol Screwball with his camera and a big shit eating grin!

Shoot me a pm sometime man!

Later..

Congrats man!

Spatts is right...you come up from the bottom of your squat fast! I'd like to see how much weight it took to actually slow you down.

Like I said on Hannibal's thread, I've got pictures and videos that we'll share with everyone as soon as I can get my PC back up and running.

Thanks Project, Im anxious to see the pics.

Its funny how when you watch the vids, what seems like a 5minute lift is only a split second.

The clips that blow my mind(and hopefully you got close to the same angle)is Bmonsters benches....His opener was an absolute smoke show. Im wanting to slow down my video to see how fast the push actually is. It looked incredible, as well his 550attempt.

Watching his clips has got me motivated on my bench.

Sheesh, a 500lb bench would do wonders for my total:D

You and me both brotha...still not sure how my third went up. I haven't had a bench PR in training in MONTHS.

Congrats on a great meet VDOP!

Hannibal-

I got a kick out of the video where you come up laughing on the bench onyour 3rd attempt. It looked strong, were you not expecting it?

Congrats to you too by the way.

Heck of a job!!!!

Like I said in some other posts I haven't had a Bench PR in what seems like forever. All my PR numbers are from before my last meet...so I wasn't expecting to be stronger at this meet. I was laughing in spite of myself.

When he gave the press command (finally, must have been a 2 sec pause)....I started to press and the damn thing started moving. I was like, "holy shit". Then it slowed towards the lockout, and I was going to be pissed if I missed it right at the top. Somehow managed to lock it out, and couldn't help but laugh.

congrats vdop and hannibal.

vdop, i moved away from good mornings for a whole training cycle, and now back to them. i think they are definitely the best ME day exercise.

hannibal, drop me an email sometime. i cant figure out what is keeping your squat back. didnt you do 545 + green bands for a single off a box?

Why yes I did...and in that meet, Nov., I missed 600...TWICE. In this meet I didn't do ANY circa max phase or any "peaking" phase...and made 575 relatively easily.

I KNOW I CAN SQUAT MORE. I will email you and hopefully we can figure this riddle out.

Hannibal, just giving you a head's up. Mike Smith (who was calling "Press") reads this board.

And VDOP, big congrats. You are insanely fast on your squats. I would love for you to come down as often as you can in the future to squat with us. Maybe your deadlifting prowess can rub off on me. I have managed to get my meager pull up to 545 tho, so if you hear some fat boy breathing hard behind you, it is me. . . get to work pulling, hoss. tee hee.

You did very well at this meet and congratulations. And thanks for the props on my benches. The form was terrible but the strength was there. If I can get the form down properly, 600+ is right around the corner.

Oh I wasn't complaining...the judging was great. It just seemed like an eternity. When I watched the vid of it I realized there was nothing different about the press command that time. Probably just seemed like forever since I wasn't sure if the damn weight was going to move....but it did

Was kinda dissapointed In my DL this meet. Now I feel my bench and DL are needing serious work. I think I may change to sumo for a cycle and see what results I get.

Also I want to start making it over to Tulsa at least 2x a month to train with you guys. I think the extra motivation will pick me up a notch.

Talk to you later..

Was talking about that today. Need to make the Tulsa trip on a regular basis...I am in dire need of a rabbit to chase...or just somebody to kick my ass on a regular basis.

You think I could tag along? Tulsa's only 2 hours away and a couple training sessions a month would help out alot.

Thank you for the Love Shack reference Spatts. . . hahaha.

And to everyone interested in getting way strong, come on down. We now have 2 monolifts, and I am sure our gym owner loves those daily fees as often as he can get them.

B.

Yep, some of the guys went in together and bought Hugh's monolift, so now we have 2 of them. More people can join the insane Saturday lifting sessions now. Hell, by my math, twice as many can lift on Saturday now. (<-------- Mathematical Genius)
