Since I’m actually respected on some forums, I’ve decided to post my thoughts on what has happen, what should have happen, and what should happen in the future.
First and foremost, I believe a memorial should be erected . Not just a little plaque, but a huge monument. This is the worst tragedy in recent American times, it will not nor should it ever been forgotten. Once everything is cleaned up all we will have to remember this is hours of video and our memories. Pearl Harbor still has a sunken ship with men trapped inside, it stands as a symbol for Pearl Harbor, we need a symbol for WTC.
On the matter how prevention of something like this ever happening, I believe that it was unavoidable. We knew something like this would happen sooner or later, it was simply a matter of when and what we were going to do to prevent it. Obviously we did very little to prevent it, I blame this entire incident on lack of action. We should of eliminated terrorists a long time ago, Bin Laden should be long time history—we should not have waited so long to act. I in no way blame airports or the people on board the planes. The terrorists were using plastic weapons, millions of people go onto planes without any problems—there was no reason to suspect something like this happening. Passengers on the plane had no reason to react, a lot of you may say that you would have, but they had no way of knowing they were going to crash into the WTC or even be harmed at all. Everyone is being very hard on Intelligents now, but why? Should we have known terrorists were planning to crash planes into WTC? No, of course not. There is no doubt in my mind that the terrorists had a very sophisticated plan, and there is no doubt in my mind that anyone that would have proved a danger to the mission in any way would have been eliminated. Sure there are now reports of people saying this was going to happen, but claims like these happen every single day—I don’t think we are wrong for not being able to distinguish them. In the end, there was nothing we could have done but eliminate the problem before it occurred, we tried this several times but failed. Perhaps we should have been more consistent and not stopped until the terrorists were down, but we didn’t, and it is no use to point fingers now—we must move forward, not backwards.
Tens of thousands of people have died, this is a tragedy to say the least. My heart, as millions others, go out the families and friends of victims of the WTC. I personally had a few friends that are now lost forever due to this occasion. We have to strike back, and strike back now—something like this is unforgivable. We have to make the terrorists think twice before messing with America again. This is going to very extremely difficult as these terrorists know no fear—they sacrifice their lives to kill others. They are bred, born, and raised to know only hate—but in essence, every last one is a coward. The big question is what should we do to seek revenge? This is a hard matter, we have to either go after everyone in the middle east or no one at all. We can not pick and choose our targets, we risk missing potential terrorists if we do. I would want nothing more than to be able to destroy the terrorists and their supporters only, but this simply can not happen. The terrorists could be any middle eastern citizen, there is no way to tell who is the enemy and who is not. I just hope the decent citizens among the middle eastern population pack their bags and move to another country before we wreck havoc on them. I know that there are some US citizens in the middle east, I hope to god they get out before something happens to them. Just one bombing in the middle east and I’m sure they will be hunting down like the Nazis did to the Jews. We have to act, we have to act now, and we have to act promptly. We can not wait for another tragedy to happen—they want a war, and we should give them one. We have more power, more resources, and most of all, more pride then them. We can defeat them, and we shall.
Raise your flags high, wear your red, white, and blue, and show off your American pride. We are the United States of America, we are based on the concept of FREEDOM. Let no one take this freedom from you, not a Russian, not a Nazi, not a Japanese, and definitely not a Terrorist. We have withstand a damaging blow, lets not show them that we are out of the count.
