some of u already know but last yr I was planning on donating one of my kidneys to my aunt but it got postponed due to illness...well its cleared now and i just got done w/the last test. im in san antonio now and i go into the hospital tue and have the transplant on wed....i cant wait. im so psyched...i thought i would be more nervous than this but im only nervous bout the cathader bein pulled out and losin more weight from not bein able to eat in the hospital and not bein able to train for 4-6wks...but i guess all great things have downsides. i know this is the trainin board and all but i just wanted to share my excitement :p

Good luck to you and your aunt. That is a truly selfless act that you're doing.

Much respect your way.

well.....the surgery was a success. they did it on wed and it lasted bout 4 hrs. i got out of the hospital yesterday. the kidney took well and my aunt is in less pain than me. im in some major pain but everything went well and pain is only temporary :insane: . everything turned out great....but my mom found out she had pneumonia while visitin me so she got put in icu and is still there. they say she's gettin better but still has fluid on her lungs. will u just keep her in your prayers. thanks guys for all your support.

I'm glad that you and your aunt came through ok. I'm sorry about your mom though, hopefully she will have a speedy recovery.

I hope it all works out for you and your fam....make sure you keep taking those antibiotics, you could get some nasty infections from those catheders!!!

anyone know of anything i can take to help keep what muscle i do have durin this 6wks that i have to wait. i have some aminos..but i dunno how good they are and i have some glutamin at home but never used it so i dunno??????????

Id ask the docs on that one...personally i wouldnt take anything, but thats just me. You dont want to overload the kidney you still have.

you're a better man than me, I doubt I would have the courage to do that

Good to hear that it went well and that you are recovering. By the way losing an organ may be a great way to drop weight classes for lifting, but I wouldn't suggest losing any more of them :)

Get well.

Cheers,
Scotsman

thanks guys...and i was thinkin the same thing scottsman..but i dont really like bein under 175 so im gonna try my damnest to get back up to what i was a few months ago. i'm around 175 now but its a lil more fat bc of not bein able to do anything but lay around
