My situation

First off, let me say that I am 18 years old. I've been training for 2 years now. No, this isn't a cycle thread.

I've gotten my testosterone levels tested twice, first time my total test was in the low 300s, second time (recently) low 300s again. My free test is 11.9. I make decent gains in the gym through hard work and eating right, although it seems like all the idiots in the gym do fuck all and seem to grow faster than I do.

I recently saw an endocrinologist and he says that I'm normal, my balls feel normal, and that I fall within all the ranges (albeit, low normal). I mean, I'm not very confident in myself, libido isn't very high (I manage to jerk it twice a week atleast though), I'm tired all the time (coffee is my lifeblood), and I just overall think I could feel better than I do at present.

How I feel is what should matter right? Should I just quit complaining and train?
Basically, should I see another doctor and ask about possible treatment for low test levels? (for my age)

I don't understand the question.

What are you worried about?

Okay, let me just ask it like this:

Since I'm 18 years old, I feel like shit all the time, gym gains hard to come by, testosterone levels that are low for my age (remember, tested at a lab). Do you think It's a good idea I seek a second opinion for possible treatment?

Stats: Age 18, 5'8, 186lbs.

Man, I eat so well it's not even funny.
Total calories are 2500/day (+500 if I do cardio), I find that this is a good balance because I don't gain fat and I still make some gains.

Protein - usually around 325g/day. 1300 calories
Fat - usually around 55g/day (plus fish oil which I don't count) 500 calories
Carbs - around 175g/day (700 calories)

When I run, I up the carbs to 300g.

This is my current ratio, I've been switching it up for a long time. Adding fat, lessening carbs, what have you. It's all clean food (except for the coffee sweetener).

I used to eat 4000 cals/day, I gained alot of fat and I made some decent gains. However, even eating clean with that amount of calories causes me to gain fat. Now I'm not the skinniest person ever, but at my age aesthetic is kinda important to me, so I can't be throwing caution to the wind and just stuffing my face with everything.

not enough clean carbs man, straight up, add atleast 100grams to that number and see how you go for one month, i know people are different with carb sensitivity but 175 is not enough to fuel training and help recover.

Wow, just recently had my blood levels at around 350 and I am 35 years old. I would probably get a second opinion from a diffrent Dr. I did and got a diffrent approach on things.

I can certainly try it, my carbs are clean besides my post workout shake.

Did your symptoms match mine? Low energy, shit libido, hard to gain mass, etc.?

Good man, its all about timing the carbs to minimize fat gain, each meal should be about 50g protein, carb wise Shoot for 100g with breakfast, 100g pre workout, then post workout what ever you shake is?? celltech, vitargo whatever, then 1 hour after the shake another 100g, this will def help with putting on some size while keeping fat to a minimal. persoanly my only carb sources are oats and basmati rice, nice clean carbs, good luck bro! also Never eat carbs alone!

2500 kcals is not enough to gain mass esp for someone of your body type....im a real hardgainer aswell and anything under 4000 kcals simply isnt enough...sort your diet if your worried about fat gains...

I will up the calories to 3000/day and see where that takes me. If I start to gain fat I can always do more cardio.

My only carb sources are: oats, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread. I make sure that there is no sugar whatsoever in the bread and pasta that I eat and the only simple carb sources I have are the dextrose in the post-workout shake and the little bit of sweetener used for coffee.

I eat six meals a day, so I can definitely reappropriate my carb intake for each meal if I add an additional 500 calories. And yeah man, cardinal rule: no carbs alone. (Thanks Burn the fat, feed the muscle)

your carbs and cals are to low. i used to take a supliment called t-bomb II it has tribulis? in it. it does rase natural test levels and increase energy. i would try maybe cycling that 6wks on 4wks off and try eating 500 or more carbs per day. you have to get the balance right in your diet. more carbs = more fuel= more cals burned= muscle growth with proper training. on the other subject. always get more than one doctors opinion if you have any doubt.

Yeah i would get another opinion. but to find out why you are low. maybe its genetic or lifestyle, or whatever.

Test these things

Free and bioavailable test
SHBG
ultra sensitive estradiol
LH
FSH
Cholesterol
TSH
FT4
FT3
IGF-1
ACTH

That should be enough to tell whats going on inside

Got another blood test, but in the meantime made the diet changes. So far, so good.

Stop drinking coffee!! You are over stimulated. Cut out all caffeine. You will feel like shit for a couple of days but then things will get better.
