my new avatar

I will tell ya's : I was looking at some dirty stuff tonight to put up.....need more time to narrow it down.

Dont really have an idol per say......unless I get a group shot of all the ladies here and put it up :) AAHHHH....... J/K--hee hee.

I will keep looking.....still leaning toward the dirty side tho ;) And still trying to figure out Spattersons---gawd she is going to flame me for writing this !!!!!!!!! :)
 
I am so glad I asked Spatterson what her avatar was.......I thought it looked like a half/ape monkey in the front???? Should of known it was sexual in orientation :) ha ha ha........

PROFILE---EDIT OPTIONS----SCROLL DOWN TO THE AVATAR---CUSTOM AVATAR---THEN BROWSE IT FROM YOUR HARDDRIVE :)
 
Phem said she still has eyore has her avatar. Thank god....not sure I could of f@#$%!^ cleaned out my temp internet files on my own !!! ;)
 
This thread is really becoming mind boggling :)

Spatts : thought you said Phem switched again from Eeyore to a new one.....and we might need to clean out our files, to view the new one. I was still seeing Eeyore, and was flipping out, thinking I might have to in fact clean out my temp files, since my puter skills are on a first grade level. Damn glad I didnt have to f#@$ with all of that, since Phem had indeed, not changed her avatar from Eeyore. WHEW !!

Small: good pic girly.....should change that one to your avatar pic.....cool idea. Just a slight tease.....most impressive ;) ha ha

only spatts could ever understand why i NEEDED to correct that;)
 
lol, by the way...can i choose my own avatar, or it has to be what they give you?....or when can you choose a custom avatar?

I didnt see a list either ; they might not exist at this time.
 
ok guys, i just got my avatar, and ive been trying to change it to see what looks best, and everytime that i try to change the avatar and upload the image, i go to the boards and the old avatar remians....ive changed the avatar at least 4 times, and the old one remains...what gives?

thanks, but i wanted homer to be dancing, and i screwed up the image, so i think i'll just stay with the naked little mermaid..thanks though..lol
 
ok, i changed the avatar, and its there...on all old threads, but when i post a reply, it goes back to the old avetar?...i hate computers
 
try clearing your cache. Go to Tools - Interent Options - and under Temporary Internet Files, hit Delete Files...
 
thanks triple V, i did that and had somewhat success, like all my old post, the little mermaid avatar would show, but when i would post something, it would go back to the old homer avatar, even after i would clear cache...lets see what happens now
 
btw guys, a quick way to update things w/o having to clear the cache is to CTRL> Refresh (hold CTRL and click the refresh on your browser)... this refreshes the page from the server and will update your cache at the same time...
 
Hey Phem, I've got what may be a silly question, but I'm going to ask anyway:

When you refresh a web page, if there's new data, the refresh retrieves it for you. Doesn't that automatically update the cache with the new data? What does the Control add?
 
i believe that depending on your isp/browser/parent's shoe colour etc, the browser often just re-paints the screen, or brings down information that is new from the last time the page was loaded... it doesn't always force the entire page from the server, much, if not all info still comes from the cache... CTRL guarentees that the page is refreshed from the server....

i think that's what it is at least... i'm not an OS/IT person, maybe someone else can chime in... but that's my understanding of it...

Okay, I forcefully picked the brain of one of my fellow IT brethren, and here's what I found out: nothing.

However, I did a little digging on my own, and here's the official answer on the forced refresh, straight from Bill's evil minions:

Refresh the current Web page, even if the time stamp for the Web version and your locally stored version are the same. CTRL+F5

So basically, it replaces your cached files regardless of when the cached files were written.

Now I've satisfied my own curiosity, and probably bored the hell out of everyone else. :)
