My MRI results...shoulder

muscelove

The rotator cuff tendons are intact and the rotator musculature is well maintained. There is however, the possibility of impingement due to thickening and mild irregularity of the coracoacromial ligament as well as a lateral downsloping of the acromion.

The glenohumeral articulation is well maintained as the visualized labrum is unremarkable. The lond head of the bicep tendon is normal. Marrow siganl is within normal limits throughout. There is no joint effusion or bursal collection.

CONCLUSION- Possible impingement due to the lateral downsloping of the acromion and thickening of the coracoacromial ligament.

I have made an appt with my ortho. What does this mean though? What should I expect? Thanks for any input

Perhaps you are having some defficit with scapular motions while doing any kind of arm movements. It may be as simple as working on shoulder posture by strengthening rhomboids and making sure they are firing right and tightness in your pecs. These simple things can cause all kinds of problems with how your scapula sits. Just a thought. Let us know how it goes!!!

Thats very similar to what a freind whose a physical therapist said. Im still gonna go see what the ortho thinks. It does seem hurt less often when I hold my shoulders back and stand up straight.
