my insulin experience

Can we talk about insulin here in the platinum area? because i want to share my very good results with this stuff if allowed

Stats 6 foot, 240lbs, 12%, 21yr old

After doing lots of research on insulin I decided to do a pre-workout insulin cycle.
I started the insulin about 4 weeks ago as a part of my pct.

On the first day I took 5iu of Novalin-r (walmart brand Humalin-r) IM 15 minutes preworkout. immediately following the injection I drank half of my intraworkout shake which consists of:

2 scoops of vitargo (60g carbs)
3 scoops gatorade (60 carbs)
30 grams BCAA
5 grams creatine mono

That day was my back workout and after just the first set I got the best back/bicep/forearm pump I have ever experienced. I continued drank the rest of the shake throughout the workout along with about half a gallon of water. I was full of energy and pumped through the whole workout.

After the workout I had 2 cups of oatmeal and 100grams of isolate. My back stayed very pumped and full for about 5 hours after the workout.

I increased the insulin dosage by 1iu per day until i got to 15iu and will not go higher than this. Every workout since staring the insulin has been tremendous and i feel like Im growing even though I just finished an AAS cycle and in pct.

Weight and bodyfat has stayed the same since starting the insulin which is an achievement in its self because Im in pct.

i did not have any hypo episodes until I started IGF1 post workout about a weeks ago. a little extra carbs takes care of that though.

cant wait to see what happens on my next aas cycle paired with insulin.

that is a high number for a first run with slin. how many days per wk and how long are you going tu run it for? what suport sups are you running with it?

thks thread needs to be moved to plat. i thought it was there im not sure what happened

Im doing the insulin 5 times a week. Ill be doing 4 weeks on with 2 weeks off during bulk and wont use it at all precontest.
Support supplements run year round:

milk thisle
Hawthorne berries
trans-resveratrols
multi vitamin
vitamin C
zma

thats because diabetics need the insulin, a normal person doesnt need it. Insulin needs perfect timing on dosage, perfect timing on meals and macros to be safe.

lol i hope so too. I feel insulin is pretty safe though if one knows what he is doing. millions of diabetics use it and not too many cases of them dying from going hypo.

imo
you dont have all the support sups
you arent cycling off long enough
your dose is to high for off cycle
you are running a high risk of becoming diabetic.

if you do turn diabetic your fitness goals will be hindered greatly along with the rest of your short life.

heres the real risk of this argued instant death comming from someone who has and still does use insulin. going hypo will have its warning signs. you will have a few minutes to respond with glucose. if you dont a variety of things could happen leaving the chance of death or other parmanent damage if others dont respond fast enough. thats it. it is dangerous but not as dangerous as some claim as far as dying goes.

i personally am running 2iu 3x per weak every other month and know that i will not go hypo before i even inject it. i also know that the chances of becoming diabetic from running the cycles i am running are slim to none.

i am more worried about you becoming diabetic than going hypo and dying.
make sure whatever you do that you wear a medical bracelet and you have glucose and sugar packets are stashed everywhere you will be while the slin is active. keep someone with you during this time that knows how to help you should you not treat yourself in time.

what other support supps do you recommend joed?
I always carry glucose tabs with me just in case.

I strongly disagree on the becoming a diabetic from proper exogenous insulin use though. If anything insulin use might prevent someone from becoming diabetic due to the bodybuilding lifestyle. exogenous insulin will take some of the burden of my pancreas because when im eating 600+ carbs a day there is a lot of insulin that needs to be produced and high stress is placed on the organ.
When one is on an aas cycle they become slightly insulin resistant and even more stress is placed on the pancreas. A couple of bodybuilding "gurus" agree with this (dave palumbo, milos sarcev).

I personally know a couple of NPC athletes that stay on long acting insulin for 6 months out of the year an are perfectly healthy although i disagree with insulin use in that manner.

well i hope your right.
this should answer any questions

Everything you wanted to know about insulin and bodybuilding

hope you dont die.

Look guys I'm going to be honest here. I'm a board certified surgeon. I want this info left on the platinum area please. So when I give a medical opinion I'm truly not talking out my ass.
My opinion with that much insulin is that you could easily die from hypoglycemia. I dont have to give 15 units to most of my diabetic patients in the hospital. At the very least have someone with you when you take the insulin and be prepared to take in a lot of sugar in a hurry if you have to.

This whole insulin thing has me bothered so I'm posting a sliding scale that we use in the hospital based on blood sugar
BS 150-199 3 units regular insulin
BS 200-249 4 units
BS 250-299 7 units
BS 300-349 10 units

by all means if you do this insulin go out and get a glucometer to measure your blood sugar. I suppose a fairly safe way to do this is to drink a really high carb and sugar drink after your workout. Try to elevate your bs to about 250 and then give about 5 units. Giving 15 units is just too much

thank for the info, I feel the way i take my insulin is safe. Im currently doing 15iu Humolog 20 minutes preworkout and drink about 150 carbs (dextrose waxy maize) during the workout.

I noticed that i go slighly hypo 30 mins after the workout if i go over 50g carbs in my post workout shake. I think this is from my natural insulin response to the simple carbs as i always went hypo post workout before i ever used insulin. If i keep the post workout carbs at 30grams im fine and no hypo.

Oh and i did decide to use the insulin during my preconception diet and i think its definitely helping.
