Hello All,

I'm 27 now and after years of playing rugby league, football, powerlifting and running (All at different times in my life, but always playing competitive sport) I can honestly say that both my hamstrings seem as if time and abuse has caught up with them. I haven't pulled a hamstring, but you know when your body tells you "one more push and I'll snap"?

This has been happening everytime I squat or do lunges these past few months and its restricting myself alot. I'm fine on the street, but suspect in the gym. I don't even lunge that heavy.

Is there anything I can do to get those hammys back in good condition? I know many sports people are forever complaining about hamstring problems.

Surprising since most don't train hams enough.

Your hams could be actually weaker then you think in comparison to other muscles, but that doesn't sound like it really. I would probably go real light on any exercise that involves them for a month and do like 3x15-20 very light hamstring curls everyday to get the blood flowing in them.
