Since I didn't have the balls to be the first one to say it...I'll just say "me too" to Jack's post.

I won't lie, I agree with a lot that's been said, and as always 'lleto made me giggle a few times...and I too rolled my eyes at the silliness of the cake.

BUT!!!

I really don't think she realizes the way she comes accross and as a result I feel like all the picking and piling on just does nothing but get everyone covered in nasty sewage mud. The comment to cindy about drinking was mean spirited, but in general she's rarely the instigator of these long drawn out threads.

I don't know. I'm not picking sides or defending anyone I'm just...blah. Let's just be nice to each other. Tolerant. I just spent the last half hour in the stairwell of my office building in tears because I got some awful news and I come back here to get my mind off of it and be entertained and there's just ugliness on all sides, and I hate it. :(

50% of the peeps here don't give a flying fuck why is paying for the cake... because they just don't care and don't put anyone in a catagory... the other 50% are jaded and have something that makes them feel they need to care... in which... really... who the fuck cares.

If your parents want to throw away between 500 - 1000 for a cake, they can afford it... they do it for you, well then... kudo's to you.

I even admitted myself that when I throw parties I like to impress people.

I understand people enought to know that. So whatever. I know that the attacking IP gets is sometimes her being misunderstood ; but what the hell. She's totally lost all of my respect.

Then if you dont kiss her ass she posts a halfway stuck up remark; just enough to piss you off but not enough for you to call her on it.

this is reminding me of defendants up on the witness stand who say their defense is that they were raised in a certain environment, that they are a product of that and that other people didn't give them a chance at life. other people judged them and OTHER people held them back, instead of taking responsibility.

that attitude drives me nuts. its never their fault.

That is rolled fondant that it is covered in. Plus, most charge way more for the same cake if you call it a wedding cake than if you call it any other kind of cake.

I understand that. I'm just going off what a few on here told me. That these aren't always peoples' real persona's, that people have personalities on here that aren't always "themselves," etc. So in real life, IMO, it's different for some people. I know no one has to be nice, chill out, or meet me. That wasn't my point.

cake is yucky, except for the filling. fondant is very sweet. yuck.

btw, IP has told us she's entertained by what's posted here and never really offended. she's told us over and over again, and said that she doesn't take anything here seriously- its the INTERNET!, so don't any of you worry about her. she's laughing.

this isn't meant to be nasty, but... do you always have such a hard time making your point in written form?
i've seen you mention how hard it is to get your point across correctly on the internet... its true that it CAN be a problem to know if someone is joking or not, but you seem to have a MUCH harder time than others and have said a LOT that you were misunderstood.

that's going to be a problem in graduate school, since you'll have to do a lot of written papers.

It will never be looked at in that way. Now if it were a party with a home made cake I'm sure it would be a different story. lol. Obviously because my parents are buying an expensive cake there has to be some bad that goes along with it. lol.

I think what started it was an adult was tee hee heeing about her mommy and daddy buying her a cake for graduation. It somehow went further downhill from there.

My writing was analyzed before I got in as part of the application process. So my writing is fine. And there's a huge difference between writing a research paper and typing on a message board. My style changes when I know it's for a research paper. And, I'm sure it can improve as most peoples' can but I am looking foward to that.

It's different when people are CONSTANTLY attacking you and then sometimes saying they are joking and sometimes saying they aren't. I cannot always tell, and often times people make it very difficult to. People also sometimes, claim it's a joke when I know there is some meaning to what they said. It seems some of you misunderstand me more than others. There are a group of people on here who do get what I'm saying. They leave me karma messages and Pm messages but won't post because I'm sure they don't want to get attacked..although HR and Oceano do post. :)

I remember I tasted an awesome cake last year that was plain buttercream and I really liked it.

I don't really see the big deal. She's a little sheltered and naive, and can come off a little arrogant, but not malicious or a bad person at all. I think her heart is in the right place.In fact, i don't know many people in their early 20's that don't think they have all the answers..including myself. It's funny to bust her balls but some of you guys act like it's high school where's its cool to always attack the attractive girl that's not "in the popular cliche". I'm sure you're a lovely girl, and I don't find it the least bit wrong that your parents want to get you a really cool cake- my mother insisted i chose the most expensive of things for big occasions. How you choose to share it, and WITH WHOM, is your perogative, and you will be the only one left holding the responsibility for their reaction.

so if your infinate pshyche wisdom you thought that posting a cute little cake on a fitness board, amoung people who are already annoyed with you and have said they think you're stuck up was going to end in grins and giggles and floating bubbles, then you were clearly wrong.

if you knew that you'd get this type of reaction, and planned on enjoying the attention, whether negative or positive, then congrats. you got a lot of it and its been entertaining for us all.
