My freaking heat is broken!

I was chilling down here with my roommate smoking cigars when I asked him if he smelled gas. The furnace was on so I took a look, the falme was rolling out on one of the three nurners. Had to shut 'er down.

I took the burners out and checked them, the looked normal so I put everythign back together and the fan was just on constantly. The flames must have tripped the fusible link. It's a tiny little thing that looks like a diode. No HVAC supply places open on Sunday so I have to sniggle up in sleeping bags tonight and wait for my furnace tech to come sometime tomorrow morning.

Grrr.

not having heat sucks a lot... my room was so cold the other day I could see my breath condensate in the air... brr

That's no fun! Hopefully you can get it fixed soon. Ours was broken until a couple of weeks ago. Up until then we just wore a lot of layers. Do you live somewhere really cold?

Time to get creative my man....buy some bottles of rubbing alcohol,get a shallow pan pour 1/2 bottle of alcohol maybe less depends on the height of the ceiling,and light...We used to do that in the building out back of the house had no heat,The band i was in,we gathered donation from each member and off to the store for alcohol,it did a really good job keeping us warm while practicing,clean burning-no fumes!!!!!

man you got me beat. I haev pretty good insulation so it was upper thirties today and it was about 55 in here with the appliances and out body heat.

supposed to be upper 20s tonight, I may see my breath yet!

And nope, I still haev Smurfy to keeop me warm !

I just bought a new furnace. Nothing like going two weeks without heat. I'm just glad it got installed right before the cold and snow.

Yeah, it wasn't too bad...the temp outside was about 45 or so, and I had a couple of space heaters.

Basically, it was a 60 year old furnace, and it took about a week for them to figure out they couldn't get parts for it. Then once I placed the order, I had to wait about another week to get it installed.
