Nate and I took his new sled for a drag around the gym parking lot last Friday night. My very first time...I was so excited!
We started off with ankle drags to the designated pole--backwards on the way back. I'd have to say that keeping your abs tight and using your arms for balance is key. Backwards was pretty cool...I had to lean forward a bit to counter balance the weight. Took a little getting used to at first, but by the time I was 1/2 way to the pole, I felt pretty good about my form.
Next was rows with a split stance. These came pretty easy to me...then there was the way back...a whole 'notha story! Straight arm pull downs? Help me out here Nate...kind of like a tricep press but with straight arms...these were much harder! I worked for every pull!
We did some overhead drags, which I think is responsible for my very tight neck! The hardest part was keeping my shoulders from flailing all over the place. Once again, abs kept tight!
Lastly we did a crouched walk, keeping the hands by the knees and staying looooow. My ass is thanking me for that one!
All in all, it was a really fun time and I am really looking forward to doing more sled dragging. I was hoping that someone could take pics of the attachments you use for your sled. We're managing with what we have, but could use some tips on attachments for different drags...and any new ideas as well.
Thanks!
