My ecto/dextrose project

I got an ectomorph friend like all ectos is trying to add mass. I got him drinking an dextrose shake after every workout. He has asked me if drinking dextrose through out the day instead of the more common maltodextrin mix would benefit him. I never really thought about how much glycogen an ecto would burn during the day (I guess because I'm more an meso-endo mix). Or if they even tap into their glycogen at a rested state. Does anyone know?

He does the basic powerlifts...eats the caloric intake of a 200-210lb person (he's 178lbs).
 
Im an ecto and I am growing fine with malt, the post important thing(s) are protein and overall calories, nail those for a day and he's set.

178# ecto?, how tall is this guy?

If you want him to end up with type-2 diabetes and high cholesterol, then yeah, feed him dextrose all day long...
 
ya im 172, 6'1".... probably look the same... Aiming for about 200-210. Let me know how the dex throughout the day works.

RippedUp: Instead of having 80g after workout, would it be better to spread it out through the day. Not increase the serving size, but break it down and spread it out, or would this defeat the purppose of its use for after workouts???

The only time of the day you want to ingest high GI carbs, is post-WO. Stick to complex/fibrous carbs during the rest of the day.

Even 80g of dextrose is a bit much. Take half that dosage post-WO, then eat a complete meal with clean carbs 30min to 1hr later.

Good source of carbs to use during the day are:

- oatmeal
- lentils
- sweet potatoes
- beans
- pasta
- vegetables
