my computers screwing up...can anyone help me?

i was on the internet and then all of a sudden i noticed that

a) whenever i held down one of the cursor keys/pageup-down keys it woul move down byt one, pauise and then scroll down rapidly. not usual
b) the speed at which the cursor moved through terxt was greatly reduced
c) while typing the 3 indicator lights on my keyboard (num lock, caps lock and scrol lock) would flash on and off intermittedly.

i tried restarting and atsrt up woud be normal (all threer would frlash on and off, then num lock would come on) except whenever i would enter windows the num lock key would turn off and then all three indicator lights would come on.....and the keyboard would not accept any input (didnt work)...mouse and all other computer things workled fine. i tried restarting again (switching off and on) and on enetring windows again the same thing happened except i heard my PC internal speaker sound with the keys flashing (suggesting too many keys at once- but none were in contact with anything)...then all the lights went iff

ther third time i tried similar thing except now the keyboard worksbut its still doing that screwed up scroll thing

suggestions? is the keyboard defective? unfortunately i have no PS2 keyboards other than this one so i cant use that

full format of my hard disk? the driver is plug and play on keyboards i thought.either way iot sucks ass, any help?

I wouldn't format the hard drive. I would buy a new keyboard and see if that fixes the problem.

couple questions

1. how many beeps did you hear when you rebooted your comp?

2. There are really not any drivers for your keyboard unless you have a compaq presariass. I mean one of those worthless internet keyboards with all the extra buttons.

3. I would say go to compusa or bestbuy and buy a cheap keyboard and see if that works, should only cost about 5 to10 bucks, max.

You might have a key on teh board that is stuck and that could cause some of teh problems you mentioned.

well it seems ok now....ill have to wait and see. just one beep so normal.

guess it was the keyboard. just gotta keep the damn thing clean...maybe i shouuld buy a mini umbrella
