So, I guess someone hacked into my computer and stole my brothers Online back information. He said they used key stokes or soemthing. The bank claims the theif used kazaa to gain access.

I don't think i had a fire wall up, so i gues I made it easy.

The bank lady on the phone said i have to format my computer....

Is this nesesary?

I have to fix my A: drive before i even consider formating.

before you format, trying installing http://www.pestpatrol.com/ (they have a free trial that won't uninstall anything).

that will tell you if anything bad is on there - including keystroke loggers - unless they are hardware.

run a virus scan (make sure its updated). This will check for any trojans on your computer...which is what most kiddie hackers use.

The keylogger that I use when hacking someone's computer creates a log w/ multiple entries. Each entry records all keystrokes in a window. Different entries for different windows. It ftps the logs to my roommates box...which I have plenty of access to. So all I have to do to get someone's bank info is look for the entry w/ the window title="Wachovia - Helping you meet your personal finance and business needs". Then scan through all the keys typed until I find something that looks like a username and password. BAM!!! I'm in like flyn. The best are paypal accounts.
