start mid-august..

i'm already enrolled in 19 cr. hours for the fall semester..

WOOHOOO!!!!

Going to school while working full-time is not cool, and by not cool I mean totally sucks. Just another reason all you kids should mooch off mom and daddy for as long as you can.

besides a reassessment of the living/working situation at the end of the semester........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. no

amen sista

actually... i've always worked and gone to school..

it was worse when i was with the marines and would go to the field for anywhere from 3-30 days right in the middle of a semester..

i've also always paid for my own schooling..

actually.. i don't think that i could ever NOT work when going through school..

yeah..

oh man.. i get to work with the best manager ever too... she's been there for like 2 years.. since she got out of high school.. she knows all there is to know about deep frying and microwaving...

Were you in the reserves when you were in the Marines? Also, just trying to gain a little perspective, has coming from the military back to civilian life helped you get more opportunities career wise? Just asking because I have had friends who joined the core and said the only benefit they really got out of it was the discipline and confidence.

no. where's that?

I stayed at the Ritz and my office is directly across from the ritz in the mall, so lets just say I had intimate knowledge of Tower City. It's pretty odd but there are some really decent shops there, but the people inside the mall don't seem to fit the target demographic.

While I didn't really enjoy the mall, I DID like the warehouse district and the Flats. Especially Shooters. It's a stupid name but it's a really cool place.

I usually make fun of cleveland because there are a lot of uneducated people there, but it's really a pretty fun city.... at least where I was at.

not in the reserves and not in the usmc..

i was in the usn but stationed with the usmc (and was, in all practicality, a marine with medical knowledge)...

having military experience/background has nothing but positive effects on career/job opportunities, both from the experience gained in all aspects of life as well as the brotherhood associated with vets... my boss is prior army, and at one time, out of 14 other analysts, 3 were prior army, i was prior navy, 2 were prior marines.. a few have left since then....

and and every vet that is in a hiring position will always pick a person who has military background over a person with equal qualifications but no military background..

i had confidence before ever joining the military, and was quick to pick up the discipline shortly thereafter.. the amount to which someone is affected regarding these personality traits varies greatly on the person and on a number of variables..

yeah the warehouse district is nice.. i like the funky buddha (go figure) and liquids.. the flats fucking suck anymore..

beachwood is a ways off from tower city.. are you still there? if so i'll get you directions.. if you're a mall rat that is.

no I'm not really a mall rat, only because I don't need to be spending anymore cash.

Have you ever been to Diamonds? My cousin used to bounce there and he's real tight with the owners. It's a pretty nice place.

never been to diamonds.. is it a club?

i've never been much into the club/bar scene when i've stayed in ohio.. now in hawaii.. that's a different story.. but here.. no.

100% correct having a military backround is great on the resume! look at the Airlines they will always take military pilots over everybody else!

Congrats man. Whatcha going to major in?

Thinking of going to school myself. Probably not till I get my car paid off and dump some of the ol bills. Like this DSL connection that only works half the time.

oh.. and you should go to school. you don't have to pay your bills off first. if anything, just take one class to get started man.

ja know cabrone?

Yeah, but one class isn't going to get me a degree. :)

The first year or two I might go to a community college, which might be ok for me to work the Job I have now and all, but I will eventually attend a university, and will probably have to find a more compatable job. Especially if I do the Work/School/Workout thing.

The reason for paying off the bills is to allow some flexability for a different job. (i.e not having to make 12 bucks an hour just to make ends meet.)
