Today during weight training we were maxing and i hit 210! warmed up with a 45lb on each side then added a 35 which was 205 which i knew a little more i could do so i put a 2.5 on and did!

Dont bounce the bar off your chest while working out. In fact youre really not supposed to let your upper arms go below parallel with the floor. I have 3 shoulder surgeries for all of that.

I dont even bench anymore, dumbell flat bench and incline barbell bench though. Just dont need my rotator jacked up again. Going too far down torques the rotator too much

Have you tried decline with an inside-ish grip and your elbows tucked in? That protects your shoulders really well and still gives the feeling (and benefit) of bench.
