Muscle Milk with CKD

serbyte

New member
does anyone know if Muscle milk will kick me out of ketosis, even if i take it as a PW shake. It has 32p 10c 18fat.

I would even take ala to minimize insulin response.

If this is not a good option, does anyone know what is good for post workout, if you are on CKD

yes it will kick you out of ketosis....

anything over 6g carbs per meal will usually kick you out of ketosis

ok, it will kick you out of ketosis, but for how long? does it really matter if your daily total is still under 20 grams? You will still lose weight though, right? What if it is before your workout? etc...

It's not the issue of losing WEIGHT, it's the issue of losing FAT........to lose FAT on a CKD, u need to be in ketosis, for that is the requirement of the diet. If you aren't, and are on sub-maintenance calories not reaching your ketosis and falling short, you run the risk of burning lean muslce mass as well as fatty tissue. You'll "lose weight", yes, but that doesn't mean you'll lose fat!

I'm just saying even if you had a meal with 20 grams but your daily total was still in the limit, it still would not have a large impact on your fat loss... IMO

It can be days, hours, weeks, I couldn't tell you that because it varies from person to person. It does matter if you want to do a CKD and you spike your insulin, that insulin spike will cause ALL the fat you're taking in to be STORED; thus, making you very obese. I.e. a Mix of insulin and a LOT of fat is deadly.

You're misunderstanding the limit:
20-30g cars PER DAY
NO more then 6g carbs per meal

The per meal is the important part, if you're out of ketosis the next step is fat gain.

are you saying all fats are created equally?

cause i use muscle millk 3 scoops before and after my workouts and i have gotten considerably leaner since i started using it

I'm not saying all fats are creating equal. However, if you have insulin spike in the body, whether you are taking in Omega3 or MCT or Olive oil or straight lard it will still be stored as fat.

i always thought fats lower insulin response. meaning if you consume a meal of fats and carbs say 25 grams each the insulin response would be far less than if you consumed just 25 grams of carbs alone.....
