Muscle group question

I have recently noticed that many people will do upper body days in their training routines that include shoulders, back, and chest.

what are the benefits of training both chest and back in the same day? should this be done?

I have always done a chest day, back day, arms day, and legs day but some people will do all four of those groups in one day and it is confusing me...

when making a training program should I focus on compound upper body exercises or exercise designed for specific muslce groups...

Of course you can do back and chest on the same day... you can do whatever you want... switch it up... routine is the enemy.

superseting bench presses with pull-ups is one of my favorite combos.

i have never done back and chest in the same day... too much work

yes you did, 5x5 has you working chest and back on the same day!

I like this routine for chest and back on the same day.

Bench Press rest 1 minute and do a set of chin-ups rest another minute and repeat once

Inclined Press rest 1 minute and do a set of chin-ups rest another minute and repeat

Rows

Deads

yeah lol i guess... but its not like a full 3-4 exercise per body part workout

working opposing muscle groups can create a greater efficiency in the gym, ie when you do bench presses you then do chins or rows while giving your chest its needed break and vice versa

Stop training bodyparts and train lifts.

I just did a workout:

3 reps of clean and jerk x 5 sets

6 sets of 2 reps, front squat, increasing weight up to a near max double

Chins 3 x 5 body weight, strict.

Tomorrow will be:

Snatch, 5 sets of 3 reps

Bench press, 3 sets of 8

Deadlift, 6 sets of 2 building up to near max double

Just combine exercises that go together well and make sure the whole body is hit at least twice a week.
