Multi Vitamin

When is the best time to take a multi-vitamin?
Is the "morning" the best time? Is before you go to bed?
I have been taking mine before I go to bed since my body is at rest... any thought's

I take a multi-vitamin twice a day. One in the morning and another one in the evening. That seems to work for me.:)

Usually taking multi vitamins before you eat or with your food is a better idea. I have to find this article or remember where I read this, there was a study done regarding how a human mind/body percieves food. Two people were given a filet mignon as a meal, one was beautifully done, the other was diced into tiny little pieces(which didn't look like a filet whatsoever). At the same time sensors were connected and reaction in the human brain was observed.

With the first meal, the individual was very happy and excited, ready to devour the meal, the second on the other hand wasn't too happy. They were both eating filet mignon, but presentation wasn't there and psychologically the second person wasn't ready to consume food. This was reflected in the data collected !!! All of this boils down to the fact that if your body is not ready to take in that multi-vitamin it is not going to. That is one of the reasons why it usually says, take a vitamin before eating.

Ok this is long enough :D

When you know you are about to have a meal, your brain has already been working on getting your body prepared for it, so if you could have it before you eat, or with your food. Either way should work, you body will think its a cheesecake or a steak or a fish lol, or whatever your meal is ;) :bday:

you body is not entirely as sensitive as you think.

no such thing as ready or not ready to consume or digest a meal!

if you feed if anything, it WILL untilize it.

the pychological bullshit is only effective in very rare cases.

I take mine at night, before bed. I have found that I can't take it in the morning because it makes me nauseated. Even if I take it, then eat 5 minutes later, I get queasy. Taking it at night works for me.

If you are taking one with added iron, don't take it with dairy products, it is better absorbed with Vit C containing products. Or, don't take a calcium pill with an iron pill.

I read that it's best to take vitamins with food - but because they absorb better, not because of anything to do with psychology. Your body just absorbs & utilizes the vitamins in the pill better when there is food in your belly as well.

They also make me naseous - I should try taking it before bed. I normally just don't take one.

Gladiola- you should try it before bed. I figure I don't get nauseated then becasue 1) I've been eating and drinking water all day OR 2) I go to sleep and therefore can't tell I feel queasy. :)
