Multi dose vial question

I was doing some thinking and I can't really figure out how multi-dose vials stay bacteria free, unless it is because of the alcohol inside it. As soon as you inject air into them you also inject a whole bunch of other bacteria into them as well, so why is it still sterile by week 10?

Never thought of it. I guess the small amount of air that we do inj. is just not bacteria contamintated to effect an entire vial's sterility.

I never inject air into a vial.........there is no need. Trust me, this is after going through hundreds of mls with them. 20g will draw up anything, but never go over a 20cc vial...........you'll notice you can't get human grade any higher. Even then most compounding pharms are the only ones using vials that big.

Even if you don't inject air in, there is still air that gets in to replace the oil drawn out. Bump for some answers.
