I find it interesting when those that have made a little bit of money in this life have a teflon attitude

I think you should be as prepared as possible.

You suspect foul play or something?
I think they were fucking stupid
as those 2 did a half mile free fall off that precipice they had plenty of time to regret

Quick definitions (Teflon)

noun: a material used to coat cooking utensils and in industrial applications where sticking is to be avoided

adjective: not to be trusted (Example: "They called Reagan the teflon president because mud never stuck to him")

Hmm... thanks. Didn't know of that use of the word!

:cow:

We'll look at it in black and white terms.

they're fucken dead, stupid.

impressive metaphoric terminology used here....their idea of importance to the world and their surroundings supersede's reality-obviously, well brought about point bro.

I applaud your mastery of the english language, 4everhung.

I'm gonna have to use that now too.

Could be they're adrenaline junkies.......

But based on their relatively light gear, seems to me they thought they could get up & down that mtn. before the weather hit & the 1 guy's separated shoulder delayed them and then the whole thing turned into a tragedy.....

They just didn't respect the elements and got pwned. It happens here a few times a year on mountains that really aren't that tough. I feel for their families, but things like this save more lives than the ones that are lost.

I think it's stupid. God rest their stupid souls.

let's not forget John Deutschendorf and his garage built airplane

They were intentionally 'speed climbing' with less gear to make the trip faster. You spend less time on the mountain but you have a smaller margin of error if something goes wrong. IMO a bad risk when you have a family at home.

Good points!

"Never ski faster than you are willing to hit a tree" is another good motto to live by......and wear a helmet!

^^ Stupidity on the ski slope......

Part of the code is to ALWAYS ski in control.....

I wasn't aware Sonny did something foolish
I thought it was just a skiing accident

Foolish is relative......look at it this way......one should NEVER ski alone & Sonny was missing for hours before he was found.......and the slope he was skiing on was a decent wide intermediate slope with trees along the side (so he went OFF trail) where people tend to drop in to ski the trees............so was he in the trees when he shouldn't have been? (foolish!) was he going too fast for his ability and thus hit the tree? (foolish!)

We'll never know cuz he was skiing ALONE which you never do! And was he wearing helmet?

I have Ski Patrol programmed as #2 on my cell phone list......

I mentioned earlier in the thread everybody has a narcotic
use "narcotic" as a metaphor

On a related funny note. Arnold Schwarzenegger broke his femur skiing today.

They were stupid because they died enjoying their passion? Yep, what retards. Why couldn't they have died in a car crash caused by an underage drunk?

Helmets are for sucks.

Nothing sad nor tragic about dying doing something you love. Beats the hell out of slowly rotting from old age in a bed and shitting yourself.

The point is, they had families. If they had children, they shouldn't be undertaking dangerous activities where this kind of result is not uncommon. Otherwise, I'd say knock yourself out. Death comes to us all.

I disagree with you. No reason not to take calculated risks doing something you love just because you have a family.

Okay, we'll agree to disagree. Merry Christmas!!

because drunk drivers kill themselves
it's overwhelming statistic wise
they're typically out late at night sharing the roads with only other drunk drivers
and be killing a tree

I had to lead you down a path
once you've figured it out
you play with the fire

While I agree with you there, I would still rather take some certain precautions while doing that thing I love.......I personally wear a helmet skiing, didn't help my knee....but it's your choice....
