what in your opinion would be the worst prison to do time in from what you've seen?
san quentin, hands down for me...lotsa those cells don't have any windows...and cali seems to have the badassed black/white/mexican dudes.
did you see that shower situation??
like 25 shower heads for 65 people...and the tatted up thugg white boy was like fuck i wouldn't shower there, and he could hold his own.
i'd take a newer cell at that tennesse prison, i think it was called River-something.
private cell, a window, proly a lot quieter

all those cali prisons are rough...and also old
seems like the newer prisons have done away with allowing lotsa peeps to congrate, like on the yard.
you don't see those big prison yards at the other prisons, mostly cali

which ever one was the newer one, i think riverbend.
seems cleaner/brighter/better staffed...proly easy to enforce shit.
some of those old cali prisons seem to be darker, drearier, and contain more knooks and crannies to get butraped/beatdown

Def. the Baraga Cty. clink. Some bad bros in there you wouldn't wanna mess with.
 
Cali is crazy I have seen a show all the over crowding is crazy too.
 
If I ever went to prison I would want a cell by myself no matter how small it was. Honestly, I would prefer some type of corporal punishment over prison. I'd rather take a severe whipping and get it over with than do time locked up with the meanest motherfuckers in the world.

How do little guys or any guy that can't fight well survive in prison?
 
california is by far the worst. They have the highest gang affiliations. Thats where most of them were created.
 
If I ended up in prison, I'd do some crazy shit just to make sure I ended up in my own cell for 23 hours a day. Cut up my roomie, shank someone's eyeballs, anything to make sure I'm by myself.

we had a thread not so long ago in which a few members here who have done time about the county jail level basically call the rape scenarios overstated
mostly use common sense,mind your own biz and don't appear soft and you're pretty much gonna make it ok

if I was doing life I'd want to be involved in the prison politics to keep life interesting
if I was doing short time then I'd probably select a course of action to limit my involvement in scenes which could get hot and cause me to accrue more time

whatever the case, i wouldn't feel too confident with myself at any of those cali prisons like san quentin, pelican bay or folsom.
maybe you wouldn't get raped, but violence is certainly gonna be in your future at least a few times

prisons serving inner-city areas.

military prisons are next up.

native american prisons are torture camps. god help you if you go there.

mexican prisons are cool if you have money. just buy your way out. I did. Can't do that here.

Imigration Canada prisons are by far the worst here and probably beat most US prison by a mile. Cells are based on the minimum according to the UN's guidelines. No window, no TV, no radio, no contact with other inmates, they never see daylight and the only thing they know is that one day they'll get out just to be kicked out of the country. An hybrid between supermax and Guantanamo. Being an illegal here is a pita....

The Canadian customs people threatened to lock my ass up in one of those immigration cells. I was crossing from Detroit into Windsor to go gambling and all I had for ID was a driver's license and my social security card. They kept insisting that those documents did not prove I was a US citizen. I didn't have a passport. At the time it was pretty relaxed at the border for a white guy driving a car with West Virginia license plates and carrying a WV driver's license. I had already crossed back and forth 3 or 4 times on that same trip with no problems. I guess I just got the bitchy customs agent. Colin Powell was Sec. of State back then and I started screaming that I would have Colin Powell personally come kick their Canadian asses if they locked me up. They eventually let me pass through.
