MP3 Player?

I just bought a Diamond Rio 300 MP3 Player off Ubid.com. I got it for like $50. Is it a piece of shit? I was told it would play a little over an hour of music and doesn't skip or anything. It has 32MB of memory.

I am just excited that I can spin my own tunes while working out and not have to listen to that "I'm a surviver, I'm gonna make it" bullshit. GOD I HATE THAT SONG and they play it over and over at my gym:mad:

It depends on the length of the tunes and the record rate. @ 128k you can get probably five / six tunes on it. @ 96 you can get about 10 - 12 tunes. But the sound quality drops.

X everything I'm Down loading these days runs 3.4 to 11.6 mb per tune. It all depends on the compression rate, which determines sound quality. The FM standard is 128 kb meaning that this rate is equal in quality to fm radio.

Ah, gotcha.
Just about all my tunes run approximately a Meg per minute of recording. The again, they're almost all CD-quality.

I have had the RIO 800 for a couple of months and I like it. It has 128 mb and holds 2 hrs of mp3 format files or 4 hrs of wma format files. It was on the expensive side though. Its nice to be able to switch your music around instead of hearing the same shit over and over.

NOMAD JUKEBOX

I am thinking about getting that piece...it is about the size of a CD player a little thicker, weighs 14oz and holds 6GB of music...THat is about a 100hrs of CD quality music...and only 270 bucks..

What do you all think?

I have a Nomad II, it sux, cards cost 100 bucks and only hold a CD worth of music at decent quality. The best buy is the Nomad jukebox with 6 gigs. Will hold around 100 cd's of quality sound.

luv my Compaq Digital PA-1
holds 25 or so tunes, but then I like Rush & Metallica for cardio- they have long songs- main reason for getting it: it's small- only 2" x 3"- never skips- great quality sound- less than $200
