I don't know about Silverdale - I lived in Kirkland for 11 years which is considered the "Eastside" along with Bellevue/Redmond/etc. Much higher cost of living there with a good Gold's gym - we moved because of high prices.

I went to UW so I can't say anything about the other schools. I know some places/things to do but you gotta tell us what you're into.

The Seagals are the Seattle Seahawks' cheerleaders that get paid like $30 or $40 a game. (???) Gold's in Kirkland is good so I assume Gold's in Silverdale is good, too. :)

Have fun in the Evergreen State! :)

Wow, you moved from the WA to VA! That's a long move. I moved from Fort Lewis to Wash DC in 1998. Talk about culture shock! I loved both places though.

ive only been to washington once. i had alot of family that lived up there in the seatle area. doesn't it rain there alot? i heard seatle had a high suicide rate. anyways everyone i knew up there moved out. most of them to california.

joker, were you live at? and what else is there to do, if your not into watching it rain? i know there is hiking and fishing, but you can only do so much of that......my family used to live there about 12 years ago, then we moved to missouri......but my parents got divoroced so my mom moved back to be with her parents. so now most my family lives there again, yippy do dah, wish they lived on the eastside of the us, not the westside. i need a town were there is atleast the same guy/girl ratio, girls over guys would be great too :)

I taught aerobics there when I was stationed at Fort Lewis from 1996-98. Is that your gym?

Yeah, but only for a few months. I went to the Y in Lakewood after that, then ended up moving further north and was lifting in Federal Way, first at World, then at 24-hour fit.

bbb - closest thing you're gonna find to that is the University District up in Seattle. That's about all I know of.

what r gym memberships running up there? i know one place tride to charge me $11 bucks to workout one day last time i visited there, i didn't pay that's crazy

Yeah, that's pretty common for a one-day thing. It's usually around ten bucks. Memberships are generally pretty reasonable there, depending on the gym of course. I've gone to several gyms in the area and paid anywhere from $18 to $34 per month.

Actually, I'm originally from Hawaii so it was a culture shock when I first felt the cold weather and saw snow for the first time. :D

Seattle's traffic is horrible (we all agree with that, right? lol), but there's no food tax, but restaurant/prepared food is taxed, and the standard of living is pretty high. The best activities: skiing, traveling around the San Juan islands via canoe/kayak/and bike, hiking, jogging or biking along the Burke-Gilman Trail.. there lots of outdoor stuff to do.

I think WA state has the highest amount of readers per capita. You can interpret that as you wish. :)

Nice to see there are lots of people here with WA ties.

I'm down south in Vancouver. For real excitement or things to do, we generally go to Portland. Not a lot to do in The 'Couv.

The rain rumour is not as bad as you think. This year was a really dry year with several days in the 100's during the summer. The rain will come in the winter and spring. We get rain instead of snow. The coast gets the majority of the rain.

what's up you little bitch, i didn't know you lived in WA, hell screw Wa, i'm moving to virginia with you man, lol that's were i want to end up, on the east coast, virginia, floridia, even gulf shores......em i making a mistake moving to WA,??????? sh*t

Well, I hate the humidity and 90+ degree weather here during the summer in the Peninsula area of VA. The mountains and waterways/beaches/lakes are nice, though. It's nice, too, to live along the Atlantic coast because it's easy to travel..up to Canada or down to Florida...and everywhere in between. :)

Both states have their good points. Don't forget taxes and costs of living, though. There's a website that you can look all this up..sorry don't have it, but you might want to look into that - like in terms of state and federal taxes, tax rates, housing costs, etc.

Both states are nice to live in. Both have a lot of trees, but in WA the trunks are long and the pines grow way high. In VA you don't see as much of the trunks and I think it is more heavily vegetated and more humid. I like the coolness of WA, although in the summer I'd like more sunshine. Both have good urban/suburban lifestyle near Seattle/Tacoma or DC.

It would be a tough choice for me to make if I had to choose one. I guess that's why I'm in between (Texas).

damn you raised this post from the dead lol...yeah i like WA, the state just seems way off by itself, i'lll be there in 3 weeks or so.....but i guess it's right by canada so i can hop over there when the us get's nuked LOL.

I moved here a little over a year ago (I live in Snoqualmie) and fell in love with hiking so much I said to hell with the Gym and now go hiking as my exercise; cardio and weight training all at the same time! I even bought waterproof gear so I can still hike when it rains. So, I don't know anything about how the gyms are here, besides, there arent any gyms in Snoqualmie :)

nah, i mean what city?

oh, my bad. i live in silverdale, also a pretty tight place if your not looking to hook up with anyone, it's got every store and resturant you could ask for, just no females from 21-30, I THINK ALIENS TOOK THEM.

LOL!! You could be right.

Yeah, nice area but not exactly a social hub. Fortunately, Seattle is not far.

Nope. I'm in Arizona now, last three years or so. But I was born and raised in Tacoma. I've lived all over the Puget Sound area.
