Sorry to hear this man.

agreed. i am sorry to hear that

she is in my prayers

what kind of cancer and how advanced is it? cancer isnt the death sentence it once was, alot of people can recover with early detection and treatment. Unless its lung.

medical issues....call her and she is always getting monitored at the doctor and always having test run.....she tries to cover it up and one time she started crying and I put 2 and 2 togather

Nordstrom has a good point. Second doctors over monitor older people. Just because she is always at the doctors having tests done does not mean much - she might be diabetic or something else. if you are that worried you need to ask her - she will at least appreciate that you are that concerned with her. If she does have cancer - even if it is one of the more manageable kinds I sure wish the best for her and just PM me if you need a shoulder to cry on.

ya i am pretty sure she does....hasnt told me yet.....how can i cope this? i havent even seen her in looooong time

well good luck and see her and speak to her as much as you can, she's gonna need all her family and friends alot right now

my mom has small cell lung cancer and the tumor grew so fast, it was pushing on her heart and would have killed her if they had'nt of gotten control of the growth in time. about 6 or 7 mos ago they figured she had about 12 to 20 mo's to live (according to stats)

We just found out yesterday (from a pet scan) that the tumor is now gone, thanks to the radiation, chemo therapy and alot of praying

Good luck to you both. Be with her anyway, Wether she is sick or not. WHY NOT.

When it rains it pours no? Go visit your mom and comfort her, what else can you do

I hope your mom turns out ok. I will pray she lives a long healthy life and her cancer gets beaten. As a guy, as most guys, I think we are closest to our moms, so you must be in a lot of pain right now. (just ask any guy who served in war who they cry out for when they are dying or close to it). But try to stay strong because she needs that.

I think you should go see her right away. Give her lots of hugs and kisses too because mommies love that.

Btw, Cancer is my number 1 hated disease. I think we all know of somebody who died of it, in fact we probably know or heard of more than just one person dying of cancer. It seems to have no boundaries and has no problem trying to take anybodies life.

I'm praying for you and your family! Go see her and make admends now. Have a relationship with her now and be there for her no matter the reason you have not talked in a long time. If something was to happen you won't regret anything and if everything is okay in the end, you have a relationship with her!

Sorry to hear this bro... I hope things soon take a turn for the better...

1. My sympathy.

2. It's a fight and a positive attitude is the most important thing. Make her keep a low stress environment and a positive attitude regardless.

Best of luck and more importantly my good wishes.

tough break bro, my mom's in the same boat but the prognosis is good. Keep your head up & be strong for her when she needs it

ask her bro she may not even have it. if she does, good luck to her and you

I don't know many people who haven't had cancer affect their lives in some way.

Gonelifting had some good advice when he said to go see you mom regardless of whether or not she really does have cancer.

btw~My aunt was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago or so, maybe longer. I believe it was breast cancer, and through chemo and meds she is pretty much fully recovered.

Good luck.

Going through it right now brother. It's very difficult. Keep praying and hoping for the best. You never know with modern medicine.

Tiger, I have a lot of experience with the practicle aspects of having someone in your life get cancer. If you need to talk - PM me.

http://www.emedicine.com/ is also good.
The epiglotis is that sort of flap that keeps food from going down the breathing passage. So the 3 types of throat cancer are:
Supraglotis -- above the glotis--base of the tounge etc.
Glotis--in the middle section of throat.
Subglotis--cancer that originates below the glotis and above the colarbone.

I went through chemo / radiation about a year ago and feel fine now.
chemo once a week IV drip for 6 weeks, radiation 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks, but I was in drug trial that alowed me to endure 8 weeks, the outermost maximum of radiation. (colony stimulating factor-immunotherapy)

The next county over uses surgery instead of radiation for most throat cancers. I saw those people post surgery, and have to say that they looked disfigured and in a lot of long term pain, just my opinion.
No guarantee, but very slightly better percentages with surgery and
radiation. The chemo by itself doesn't do much, but helps the radiation be more effective.

Most patients were 60+ years old heavy smokers, but there were 2 strikingly beautiful women in their 20's who were in shock that they had it. Sorry to be cliche and simplistic, but I feel thier and my cause was mostly psychological, letting people put us on a short leash, swallowing too many lies etc. PM me if you have any questions.
