How do you know it's from weed? How can you even prosecute that? Seems it would be relatively simple to fight in court.

In the first half of the year last year there were 112 arrests for marijuana out of total 1324 arrests for DUI.
This year now that it's legal in the exact same time frame there has only been 197 out of 1311 total DUIs

I'd be willing to bet the majority of those cited for driving high were smoking while driving
They just recently passed the law of 5 nanograms being the legal limit and the officers do not know how to test for it yet and/or aren't trained.
It also has to be a blood test which means they had to take you in.
They're not doing that on the suspicion you smoked earlier.

That's the entire point bro. DUI from weed alone has gone from 112 to 197.
That's almost an 80% increase in DUID's from marijuana.
Percentage wise it's significant.

When you say 85 additional DUI's it doesn't sound huge, but everyone knows DUI is dangerous. That's an extra DUI every 4 days. That seems considerably less safe.
