military APO

Is it safe to ship to military APO or would getting a local addr. be safer? Im in Germany now and was unsure, or if its easy to get stuff here. Thanks for any help.

why are you getting it shipped? sent from europe to the states back to europe? just buy it there.

well Im new here so I did not think I could walk down to the local drugstore and by it there but hell maybe I can. So just asking for best ways to ship or other idea's.

I'm not disagreeing about the apo being a good use but I lived 6 years in Germany and it was everywhere. Trips to any of the easternblock countries always saved me cash and paid for the trip in savings. I'm sure someone on EF can give you good advice on this.

if AS or AS related, it's between military customs and German customs, I fathom the military customs catching your stuff would cause you other issues?

DO NOT use an APO address - I had numerous packages opened on me when I was in Germany and this was way before I used AAS. You give up a whole list of rights in the military - especially when it comes to mail as they can open it as they see fit. I would say it is not worth the risk.

I occasionally have stuff sent to my APO and have yet to have a problem...however i also have a Netherlands address as well. So it just depends. But realistically why ship it when its so readily available.

My military career was spent in KY and as for my packages i received they where never tampered with, but being in Germany I'd try to get it there,Now if you still want to get it shipped to you just go get a PO Box or something off base

i got gear shipped to APO in iraq...but that was pretty risky.....find an offbase ady you can use. if u dotn want to go shopping urself just get a source that is already in europe

i've had stuff opened on my APO addresses

never had any gear or anything like that, but it was VERY obvious my stuff was opened.

I wouldn't risk it, especially if you have stripes or if you are an officer.

In addition to all of the obvious issues, there's that "Conduct Unbecoming" that can get you an Other than Honorable, and that's stuff you don't want to mess with.
