Mid-cycle plateau

Greetings bros. First off I wanted to thank you all for the awesome information on this forum. There are a lot of intelligent, educated people on this forum and it has helped me tremedously. I'm running my first cycle ever and I've gained 14 lbs so far (210 up from 196).

Running 250 Test (mexican blend, PetPharma), 250 Deca (PetPharma), frontloaded with 20mg d-bol (mexican pink tabs) for 2 weeks (stopped after I got fed up with the lower back pain and insomnia).

My question is this...I'm at week 6 of a 10 weeker and I don't seem to be gaining any more (been at 210 for over a week). I was considering running some d-bol again but the bloat is annoying. Maybe I just need to up my calorie intake. Has anyone else experienced a plateau in the middle of a cycle like that?

I'd love to hear your guys' feedback.

Nutrition is the key to getting past plateaus! Up your protein and calorie intake. Make sure you change your intakes as you gain weight. Check out the nutrition board, there is some really good info on there.

I hope you're running an anti-estrogens on this cycle, like Arimidex (re: your bloat comment).

Simple solution, increase caloric intake and increase protein intake.

Also, you might be over training.... How often are you working your body parts?

He's running 1/2 gram + of AS, overtraining is probably not an issue for him.

Im with Mr.X i think it should be virtually impossible for you to overtrain on gear. Oh and for your first cycle you should really be gaining more than you are...so eat like crazy dude.

It's definitely possible to over train on AAS. I think his problem is nutrition. As one gains muscle you have to keep increasing cals. Gaining muscle causes a correlating increase in the metabolism. So if you don't add more cals you won't be eating enough to gain. Simple physiology, but it's the most overlooked aspect of any bulking cycle. I can't tell you how many bodybuilders come to me and say they're bulking cycle isn't working. I'll look at it and most of the time it's solid. Then I'll look at their diet and it's a mess.

Not looking to get into a whole over training debate, but it's totally possible to over train while on gear..... It really depends on the body type of the person..... Ecto's can defintely over train even with gear, while a Endo/Meso prob won't have that problem.... Also, just upping the calories without knowing his body type could result in excess fat gain if he's even a lil bit Endomorphic.... I also agree it's prob his diet since he should keep growing with a 1st cycle, but the over training "could" be an issue....

Thank you all for your feedback.

I think most of you are right about the issue being nutrition. I'm definitely not overtraining (I'm only working each bodypart once a week and feel myself recovering very quickly). My calories have just been too low for my size (3300-3400 for a 6'2" 210 lbs guy at 10-13% bodyfat). I'm just going to have to get over my fear of a little bodyfat and start chowing down some more!

Thanks again!

At first I thought my gains were awesome (put on 10 lbs in like 2 weeks) but they quickly slowed down. Are my gains really that low for 5-6 weeks in?

14 lbs. is good bro. Keep in mind that the initial weight gained was a lot of water. This means sub Q and water from extra glycogen being stored in the muscle.

No you are making good gains but what you might want to do unless you are already doing it is add in some Protein shakes to boost your calorie intake since you are already consuming about 3500 calories in food the shakes will help out alot. And also you do not want to get bloated and full of fat so if you gain about 20 pounds you should be happy with that. I have been cycling on and off since 1989 with some long breaks in between but consistantly for the last 4 years and I plateau on my weight gains about the 6 week into my cycle and i just maintain what I have from that point on. I do not like that bloating up fat shit by stuffing myself with more food fuck that. After a certain point you are noty going to gain any more weight that is just how it works with using AAS.

I agree. A mid cycle hcg bump seems to help me.

I'll be doing the standard HCG/Clomid/Nolva PCT, but I never heard of a mid-cycle HCG bump. Has anyone else tried this successfully?
