It was a crap story, very predictable, not very original and you never really cared for any of the characters. It was a thin read.

If he likes mystery type thrillers check out anything by Brad Meltzer. "THE FIRST COUNSEL" was excellent.

I think Chrichton's talent has went the way of the dinosaur ever since Speilberg started giving him multi-million dollar reach arounds in order to make them into movies. Ill bet that this novel was written in preperation to be a hit blockbuster later on next year.

do yourself a favor and read any book by chuck palahniuk (author of fight club). you will love them. i suggest you read his book 'Survivor.' all of his books have that same fucked up, dark, twisted sense of humor...right up your alley.

Actually, I read fight club, never got around to the others. I understand he wrote one that dealt with a steroid user.

yeah, that's 'Survivor.' it's about the last surviving member of a religious cult who goes from hijacking a suicide help line (where he tells everyone who calls to kill themselves) to becoming a world famous televangelist. it's reallly fucking good.

I just finished Grisham's "The Firm" about 5 minutes ago. That booked kick a ton of ass. I didn't have any idea what the book was about since I never saw the film, and it was hard to put down.
I picked up some Chrichton book tonight that has The Andromeda Strains, The Terminal Man, and The Great Train Robbery on it. I will make sure I avoid Prey.
Get Dean Koontz' Tick Tock if you want a quick read that is really entertaining.
