Mexico Border crossing (current situation)

I have not crossed the MX border (from TJ) in about a month. In light of wordly events has it actually gotten worse than before? The wait has always been long since 9/11 but can anyone tell me if it has been worse since the war started? I am guessing it might be, but would like to hear from those that have been in the past two weeks...

Made a trip yesterday to Nuevo Laredo. Business as usual other than they actually ran my license this time. No prolems.

border crossing

yes, i went to TJ this past weekend and the people crossing isn't bad trafficwise, but they impremented metal detectors right at the door (i wonder if metallic caps on injectable bottles will trip their alarms?), then after crossing, the guys are a bit more on edge because they asked me more questions than usual and yes, they ran my license too unlike before. since i was not up to anything nefarious, i had nothing to worry about, but i would imagine someone trying to pass anything other than personal stashes may sweat bullets nowadays....

the car crossing wasn't worse though, it was about the same....

trafficwise, the same rule as always still applies and that is, don't go on sunday, its preferable you go on tuesday-thursday and maybe friday, and if you chose to walk across during heavy traffic times, rent a bike (they have places across the border making quick business of this trick), because you can get across much quicker as they have a lane especially for bike riders.
