well i wanted to fart around in my new Metal Viking bench shirt..hit some raw warm ups then put her on and started doing 2-brd presses..

I hit 455x3 off the 2-brd..it was my last set and by far my best..rather easy as well..had more in me but didnt want to get too far ahead of myself..Im hoping for some big bench numbers this year.. this weight was a snap to lockout as well..it was like a feather..the 12 weeks of raw board and all the CG work has finally payed off!!!

for me i always can full range for 1 what i can 2 board for a triple, and if that triple was not a max effort, your prolly good for 465-470, a little shirt work and your own your way to a 500 bench. what weight class will you be lifting in?

You know - that is so friggin awesome! I can't wait to get my Metal bench shirt too. Something in your post stuck with me after I read it though...i liked that you said, "...I got a new shirt and hit some bigger numbers - but it was the "work" I've done up to this point that made all the difference." Thats cool. I've never seen a shirt lift so much as a pound. :) - You'll be benching big soon. Take care.

thnks sis..i have a feeling you are going to LOVE the Metal shirt!!!
im sure its been debated on allthe boards whether or not a shirt is "cheating"..you would know best youve been on both sides..we ALL work hard whether it be bodybuilding or powerlifting..like you said a shirt doesnt lift by itself :) let us now how it goes wne you do get your shirt!!

Will do! I can't wait...never had a 'real' bench shirt that fit before. Along the lines of cheating ,etc...there was a great post on Elite FTS from M. Ruggieria on 2/16/05 in his training log. You should check it out - its along the lines of 'working' for the numbers you put up and that strength doesn't come out of 10ml bottle. So true.

I was thinking about posting up my training log so all you guys can see the numbers a really little person puts up...LOL. We will see!

you should start a log here. everybody can learn by checking out someone else's workout. maybe someone will find that something you do, that has benefitted you, might benefit them. also, you can get input on what you are doing.

Awesome, one question though... Did that shirt leave a mark on you? Most shirts i've ever put on tear me up merely by putting them on, I used one of those metal vikings, hit a 50 lb PR and barely had a mark.

How many blood vessels did you pop in your head vs. the backs of your arms and triceps. I think that is a true testament to a good shirt.

i think i read it..was it about the morning crew going down hill?
Mike is a great lifter and a super nice guy..he posts on another board that i visit sometimes si i private messaged him and just said how great it was to watch him squat on chuck's video..blah blah blah..he wrote me back and you can just tell he was very humble and seemed like a great guy..some would think that someone at his level wouldn't bother to answer someone like me back but its not the case

Yes, that was the right post. Very sad indeed. That is very true and interesting you picked up on that through his words alone. I have not spoken to him personally, but he does seem to be a humble person and very helpful answering questions. Watching him train one day he was kinda quiet, but that may have just been one quiet Saturday morning I was up there and it was kinda empty...:) I imagine it used to get crazy when the morning crew was in full force. Posting up my log tonight per Illuminati's kind 'go for it' post. Maybe it will be an additional motivator - although I'm pretty motivated already about the June meet. Take care.
