This is such a day by day thing for me. I'm struggling if I'm honest. I think about food all the time and just wonder if it will ever become an automatic thing where I make good choices without thinking. I work long hours and use that as a reason not to work out. I try to make "appointments" to go but it's not working so far.

However, I look at people around, in airports, at the checkout and I hate the fact that I'm one of those unhealthy lumps. Those people who obviously take care of their bodies, muscular and energetic, I admire so much because I know absolutely realise what it takes to look and feel like that.

I just have to keep going, keep trying.

I'm a bit hormonal, can you tell?

Mermie (in most loving voice):

Sounds like you're doing great. The weekend binging (sp) can get you down. Make your goals and stick to them. I see that you're taking your food to your meetings now. That's a good thing! Just keep moving forward and choke the stuff down even when you don't feel like it. We all do it. Sometimes if I see a chicken breast I want to kak on sight, but somehow, we get thru.

I just made it thru my hormonal week last week. Thank God it's over. Think positive and know that one day you'll look back at your old body and hard work and thank yourself for sticking to it. Hope you have a great week!

WOw =) mermaid, you took the words out of my mouth! My "expected" dinner on friday night is always a HARD decision to make, because everyone i see is eating something good! lol.....unlike us trying to eat right. And anytime i give in to my FRIDAY night, it's REALLY hard to get refocused the rest of the weeekend. It almost becomes a free-for-all! =)

GOOD ON YA! ;) that is hard! You live in Oz right? I was in TOwnsville for 3 months in Oct. 2003. (i was on a missions school though and it was NOT fun. =( What part are you in? (if you are there).

I need to wean myself off the psychological aspect of a Friday night reward because it impacts food goals over the weekend.

I allow myself a little alcohol on the weekends (any night and only vodka and diet/chrystal light or wine), but I am only allowed to EAT whatever I want on Sunday. Most of the time it's dinner Sunday night. If I were to do it Friday night, I would be too hard to clean it up for the rest of the weekend.

Yes, I'm in Australia. Gold Coast, Queensland. It is a beautiful part of the country, the beaches are fantastic but I feel sooooooo far away from family, friends etc. But then that's the trade off for marrying an Aussie man and moving to his homeland!

I know, today has been difficult. I'll try Sunday instead, that's a good idea, Trouble is, I get to Friday and especially if I've had a tough week, I think I deserve a reward. It's usually food.

I have to get out of that mindset to get anywhere though.

OK, so I go to a colleague's house for dinner - they ask me to pick up Indian takeout on the way. This is going to be tough but I choose reasonably well:

7.00pm
About 1 cup chicken, spiced but dry
1/2 cup basmati rice
1 small piece Indian bread
About 1/2 cup dahl - lentil curry
1 glass sparkling white wine

1765 cals P:39 C:27 F:29 A:5 Fiber 28g Water:4 liters

I got very frustrated though, getting ready to go out I tried to pull on some shorts, the last time I wore them was last summer. They were so tight I just couldn't do them up. I was stunned that I am so much bigger than last year, it creeps up on you. Oh well, gotta keep going.

Sunday October 23

P gets up early to fly to Vancouver for a conference. He'll be gone for 9 days.

9.30am
1 cup bran cereal
1 cup milk mixed w/
2 scoops protein powder
Vinegar drink, multi, flax, zinc

Go to the mall - watch a movie, buy some new training shoes, shorts and T-shirt. Not much choice at the food court, you know how that is, but:

1.00pm
Subway - roast chicken, tomato, cucumber, no cheese or dressing on wheat

3.00pm Gym
DB shoulder press
One arm DB lateral raise
Bent over DB reardelt raise
Crunches - forward, oblique, reverse
30 mins cardio - treadmill

It was a great workout.

Then I lost it. WTF? Junk food binge for an hour.

I'm an insane mental person. There is something seriously wrong with me. This whole thing is psychological, it has absolutely nothing to do with the physical at all. You know, I was going to lie on this journal, but where would that get me?

My diet has been a shocker this past week. Anyway, I've already cooked up a storm for my meals this week so at least I'm prepared. Trying again.......

Yeah....don't feel so bad =( I had a junk food binge tonight as well. I have this mentality, ok well, its almost midnight which means its now "monday". Better eat all the things i want that stop tomorrow for the new week! It's sick =( your right, its ALL in the head! And yeah....its beautiful in Queensland! I'd love to go back one day and visit for fun =)

1/2 cup asparagus
2/3 cup no fat refried beans

My new shoes were great though - no shin splints this time. :)

2.00pm
3oz chicken
1 cup cabbage salad
1/2 avocado

4.30pm

Wednesday October 26

I had a gyno appointment this morning so took advantage and went to the gym.

7.45am
30 mins HIIT cardio - treadmill

9.00am
Vinegar drink, multi, flax, zinc
1/2 cup oats (dry) cooked w/
1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water
1/2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp LSA
6 whites, 1 yolk

Had the appointment. Found out that I have to have surgery on Nov 21st - probably an overnighter. Kind of threw me for a loop, wasn't expecting it. Probably nothing serious but needs to be done. So I went into a bit of a funk and my meal timing went out the window.

12.00pm
Lo carb protein shake

2.00pm
10 almonds

4.30pm
4 prunes
10 almonds

Going to a friend's house for dinner and a girly chat. I need the chat but don't know what food she'll provide

She made baked fish which was layered with mushrooms, zucchini and onions. It was soooo good. Also had about 1/2 cup garlic mashed potatoes :p and 1/2 cup spinach. Not sure as to the fat added in cooking so will dispense with the macros for today.

Oh, also had two glasses white wine Well, it was a girly chat! ;) Felt much better afterward. And I log this as my rather early cheat meal for the week.

Thursday October 27

Took the day off from the gym. Not the best day for real food as I had a marathon of meetings - thought that had died down but no such luck.

Overslept - I miss my alarm (P)

8.00am
2 slices Performax bread
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup cottage cheese

Meeting - asked to do something extremely unethical though thankfully got it on email to cover my ass.

12.00pm
Lo Carb protein shake

Another worthless chatfest.

2.00pm
Protein bar

And again.

4.30pm
Lo carb protein shake

At this point, I'm actually missing real food. I could never be an astronaut.

7.00pm Business dinner

About 1 cup steamed white rice

No supps, not enough water and I have a real urge to go running.

ScorpioGirl said:

Yeah, so why can't I do that all the time?

Take today as an example:

7.30am
Protein shake
Multi, flax, zinc

8.00am Legs and shoulders
Squats
Calf raises
One Legged press
DB Overhead press
DB Lateral raises
20 mins steady state cardio - bike

Great workout

9.30am
Homemade protein pancakes (they weren't good)
6 whites, 1 yolk

10.45am
Remedial massage

1.00pm
Grilled chicken tortilla
Tomatoes, tabbouleh, hummous, avocado

Went to the movies - just drank water - no popcorn or anything

Then bumpity bumpity bump. I'm on my own with P still away and I get bored so I ate for the sake of it. It's 5.30pm now and I feel so sick.

Not going to bitch about it anymore, it's my own fault/problem/thing to get over.

The good thing I've noticed this week is that more water IS a great help and I seem to make more progress when I do more cardio. (Cut out the crap food and I'd be doing really well). I'm going to keep up the cardio and just keep the weights to compound moves until I've lost more body fat. When I eat well, I miss the gym, when I hit the gym, I think I can cheat.

Anyway, have a good weekend!!

I get bored so I ate for the sake of it.

What's the answer to this.....? I know you know......

Stay Busy!!!! Clean the house, go for a walk, talk on the phone. Keep your hands busy doing something. Surf the net...something. Just keep moving. There are times when I go home and I'm so exhausted, but I know if I sit down, I'll be in trouble.

Let's just pass over the past couple of days and start again tomorrow. I've not been that bad but not been that good either :worried:

Funnily enough, my pants are more loose than before and people have commented so I can't ruin it now ;)

P comes home today - I didn't realize what a good influence he actually is for me.

So, see you tomorrow, back on it!

I am just not hungry. It's 10.00am and I'm just going to force myself to eat. This is NOT like me at all.......

Just a little protein and a little carb.....it won't hurt to drop the cals here and there. Just try to eat a little something to keep the metabolism going.

This is my 8th week so I decided to weigh and measure.

GOOD NEWS
Since the start, I have lost 7 pounds and 8.5 inches total, mostly from the torso area.

BAD NEWS
I know my progress would have been better if I was continuously consistent. And that's the hardest thing about all of this.

But that's the thing - it is work in progress, I'm learning all the time about my body, mind and what works for me.

I know my progress would have been better if I was continuously consistent.
BUT....you made the effort and it PAID OFF! Keep it up...great work!!!!:)

So before you think, oh it's the weekend, Mermaid blew it again, let me tell you what I did:

As P is going to be away all week (again), we decided to have some "quality time". Bush walking/sight seeing in 90 degree heat  We spent the day doing just that and stayed in a motel at night. Food was OK, I was careful, no cheating, mostly meat/salad/lite dressing, no alcohol or sugar, though obviously couldn't weigh or measure. Not enough water though.

Got back Sunday am, went to the gym (lweights and cardio) then I went away with my job overnight and as I was rushed, didn't pack food. However, again, I was pretty strict.

So now it's Monday night, back from the trip. Just been to the gym, 30 mins HIIT and going to eat some cottage cheese and almond butter before bed.

Back to the detailed log tomorrow :)

Tuesday 8 November

7.30am
2/3 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup blueberries

Got in car to go to gym, forgot gloves, so went back in and the phone rang. It was a good friend from England who I haven't managed to speak to for about 6 months. I was SO happy, I sat down and chatted for an hour. I'm glad I forgot my gloves.

Wednesday 9 November :bday:

Happy Birthday to me. I'm 36 today.

My boss (amazingly) wished me well and then said "so what star sign?". When I said Scorpio he said "OMG, I should have known" in very serious tones. Us Scorps get such a bad rap.

Anyway, I make resolutions on my birthday not Jan 1, after all, it's MY new year. This year is just the same as last year and the year before and the year before that. How sad does that sound? In fact I've had the same resolutions since 2001 when I was 135 pounds and had money in the bank (amazing how a divorce affects you):

1. Get fit and fabulous at 37!! (around 135 pounds and 18% bodyfat)
2. Invest 10% of take home pay
3. Learn to swim (I know, that's a pretty sad thing to admit - but I am petrified of water)

So, I start again, the same resolutions, another year older. Something tells me that I am going to have a better chance of it this year.

5.45am
Went to the beach and walked in soft sand for half an hour.

P called me so was late to work. Forgot to take supps.

8.30am
2/3 cup cottage cheese
5 prunes
10 almonds

8.30am
2/3 cup cottage cheese
5 prunes
10 almonds

11.00am
3oz canned salmon
1/4 cup cottage cheese
1/2 avocado

1.00pm
Another small piece of FF cake (leftover from yesterday). I put the rest in the trash. Almost sprayed it with 401 so that I would not be tempted to take it back out - a la Sex and the City. Yes, I have done that many times before.

4.00pm
Lo Carb Protein Shake

I've just taken a late lunch and had my hair cut. I've had it very long, for so long, to cover up my back fat. Yes, I've been hiding behind my hair for ages now. So, I had six inches taken off, it sits on my shoulders now, bob-like. I think I look so much bigger now, though that is an optical illusion, but it is adding more incentive to keep going.

Tonight I've been asked round to a colleague's place as I am on my own for dinner. I'm going to have Italian chicken, some cake and maybe a champagne or two. And I don't feel bad about that because it is my birthday.

Happy Birthday my fellow Scorp!!!!!!!! Hope you have a fantastic day!

Things with frosting are no longer allowed in my house. Waaaayyyy too much of a temptation. I am considering not even going to Wednesday night church suppers anymore because they always have delicious pies and cakes for dessert. :( I'm pretty sure THAT much vanity will damn me to hell - but at least I'll look good.

Actually didn't have the shake at 4pm. Left it on my desk and forgot to drink it.

3 glasses champagne

Thursday November 10

I used to drink alcohol nearly every night and feel no effect the next day. Obviously, I've cut back considerably though I still indulge too much. I think I'll be indulging less as just three glasses of champagne (and a few waters inbetween) make me feel like shit.

6.45am
Vinegar drink, multi, flax, zinc
6 whites, 1 yolk
1 piece Performax bread
1 liter water

I placed an order with the AF store. Sesamax, Levorex and more Glucorell. You can't get Trex and YES into Australia.

Went late night shopping with colleague's wife with whom I have become quite friendly She has been quite honest with me about my appalling dress sense - I don't make much effort, my clothes are baggy, ill fitting as I always want to hide my body. Because of my weight gain over the past few years, I just don't buy clothes anymore so it was a real experience trying on things that I would never have even looked at. It was exhausting.

I bought some pants, a dress (!) and underwear and secretly hope that I will be out of them all in a couple of months. Then I can just go and buy some more.

LOL - so how do you feel about you NEW look?!?! ....and I'm sure you WILL be out of them soon! :)

Mmmm. I don't know. Not used to wearing form fitting clothes that show my shape. I don't like to attract attention to my chest as it's on the larger side, the bra I bought was DD and the top has a v neck. When I look down, all I can see is cleavage!

She told me that I am a man trapped in a woman's body, LOL.

And in terms of being out of them soon, progress is slow. My eating is still dependent upon my situation and emotions :(

Friday 11 November

Diet went to hell. I ate:

Protein shake
1 1/2 ham, cheese, tomato sandwich on wholemeal
2 cups french fries
~ 1 cup chicken tikka masala
~ 2/3 cup pilau rice
2 slices spinach and cottage cheese naan bread

Not much food really, but all crap.

P doesn't come back until Wednesday. I spent the night with my girlfriend, hence the Indian takeout. It was good to catch up with her though.

Saturday 12 November

We got up, had breakfast out and went shopping.

1 griddled egg
1/2 tomato, 2 mushrooms
1 slice bacon
1 slice ciabatta toast then:
1 pancake
1/2 banana
drizzle maple syrup
1 cappucino
1 green tea

Plus multi, flax, zinc

Could I possibly eat more food in one sitting? I was stuffed.

I am not going through a very happy time right now for various reasons and have fallen back into the trap of eating for comfort. It's all in my head. I'm even learning about my body and what works/doesn't work which is good, but the mental aspect lets me down.

I wonder if I deserve logging on this board as I do not compare with the other girls who manage to stick to their goals but if I stop now, I'll put back on the 7 pounds I've lost and more. So, pathetic as I may seem at times, I'll keep going. I guess this is what a journal is all about.

Hope you're feeling better sweetie!!

Of course you deserve logging on this board! Believe me when I say, just because we may be sticking to our goals, diet and exercise-wise, there are a lot of us who fail in our goals in other aspects of our lives. I've been struggling with very personal issues the last several months and about the only goal I've been able to stick to is my health - after that all bets are off! :( Just do what you can to keep going, and vent as much as you need to or want to.

And I can totally relate to your comment about being a man trapped in a woman's body. I've heard that sooo many times, but now that I'm reaching my goal I'm getting a little more comfortable with the low cut shirts (to me at least, although I still don't have the nerve to show cleavage). Anything below the collarbone is a little too low for me yet. :worried:

Sunday 13 November

8.00am
Woke up and felt like staying in bed all day but I forced myself out. Couldn't face the gym so went for a beach side walk. Once I got going, I picked up the pace and went as far as the headland and back again. It took just over an hour and felt much better when I got back.

9.45am
6 whites, 1 yolk scrambled w/
spinach, tomato, 2 cube feta cheese crumbled
1 slice Performax bread
multi, flax, zinc

1.00pm
2/3 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup blueberries
1 tbsp almond butter

Spending the afternoon working :( Got some reports to complete but I just can not get the enthusiasm to do it. Geez, I need a kick up the @#$!

Oh hell. Could not concentrate on work and could not resist the urge to make pancakes.

Did have Glucorell-R first though, 4 of them. Yeah, great

4.00pm
3 pancakes (6.5 inch diameter)
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp whipped cream

So I've spent the last hour reworking my cutting calculator as I have put on 3 pounds (now 155 and 35% body fat); almost back to where I started.

Anyway, I'm about to cook this week's meals and I WILL have just 4oz chicken before bed. As I did not finish the reports I'll have to go in extra early tomorrow. Macros turn out to be:

Monday 21 November

Had surgery today so nil by mouth all morning and too nauseous the rest of the day to eat. Everything looked good thankfully but the test results will give me final clearance. Now I can concentrate on getting these hormones sorted. Coming off the pill worries me a little because I've always been one of those women that lose weight, not gain. Plus the acne and PMS are bad. The doc said a clean diet and exercise can be a key to overcoming most symptoms. So another reason to keep improving my lifestyle.

Back to logging tomorrow. Hope all you guys had a great weekend.

I'm reworking my goals. By that I mean splitting up my main goal into smaller parts - baby steps.

I weigh 152. (Lost the extra I put on over the past weeks)

So, first step is to break the 150lb mark.

I know I should concentrate on bodyfat - but I still have plenty to lose and can not measure BF properly at home/gym.

I will be 149 by December 7

Thursday 24 November

Happy Thanksgiving! It was always my favourite holiday when I lived in the US - I had some great times with my American friends.

Had a shocker of a day though.

Started off well, went to work, spent most of the morning answering the 1000 emails I got in the time away and catching up on the gossip - there was a lot; one serious lost time injury and three terminations, one for fighting on the factory floor!?

7.30am
2/3 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup blueberries
1 tbsp almond butter
500ml water
multi, zinc, flax, sesamax, levorex

500ml water

10.30am
2 slices Performax bread
3oz sardines in tomato
500ml water

1.30pm
4oz grilled chicken
1 cup mixed veggies
1/4 cup mexican beans
500ml water
sesamax, 2 levorex

Then forgot to eat. Didn't plan well through my all afternoon meeting about why we are still losing money.

6.00pm Gym
Now this is where it goes pear-shaped. Had an "accident" and needed to leave early. I had gone into details but probably not appropriate. Managed 30 mins hill program on bike. I'm not ready for a full on work out yet.

It's been a very very strange day for me. I would elaborate like I did yesterday but then feel bad for divulging too much info and then would delete most of the post. Though the process of getting it off my chest feels good :insane:

Anyway, hope you guys had a great holiday. It's been a bit lonely on the board today!!

3 slices thin crust meat/fruit pizza

Meat/fruit pizza sounds yummy! I used to live in Singapore and they had all kinds of fancy pizza concoctions just at our regular pizza hut. Of course, since I'm still digesting the calorific indian food from last night, I really shouldn't be thinking of pizza right now.

I actually did read your story posted yesterday. I enjoyed the Hilton sisters anecdote. And kudos to you for being ambitious to hit the gym right after your surgery regardless of how it turned out. Sounds like you got out of there without too much embarrassment and that's what matters.

I'm on these boards through the holidays, so don't feel too lonely.

OK, Mermaid, now that's just not fair. Leaving out the details and all. I'm feeling a little like a busybody right now, but it's just KILLING me.....what happened?

Well, you've probably gathered by now what a mess Mermaid is. I do struggle to keep things together and don't always think before I act.

Yesterday I decided that I felt well (you know, after invasive gynaecological surgery), back to normal and I would go to the gym. So I get on the bike for a warm up, pedalling away, feeling good, up the pace, when I experienced a "leaking" feeling down below. I casually look between my legs (as you do when you're on a bike  ) and my fears were realised and yes, I was wearing WHITE shorts. Was planning on staying on that thing until the gym closed (three more hours) but muscle catabolism doesn't fit in my goals right now.

Well at the same time, the Hilton sisters joined me on the bikes. They've been in the gym for months and months, lost a lot of size (size 0-2 now I guess) but still skinny fat. They look JUST like the Hiltons - extremely high maintenance even at the gym. And they're sat next to ME; older, greyer, fatter, paler, no makeup, bleached T-shirt and nicely "patterned" white shorts. Now they're eye candy for the guys and everyone is looking over (at them) but then glancing over at me too. Oh, yes, I'm feeling REALLY good about myself. I wanted to disappear.

After 30 mins, the Hiltons get off and go to the changing rooms. I wrap my towel around my waist and follow them. Thank God. Anyway, once in there, Paris says to Nicky that she needed to go to the store, Nicky asks what for and Paris says "because I've run out of laxatives".

Ha ha ha ha ha, I'm saying to myself, must be for all the protein you're eating. NOT. And for a few moments I'm loving the fact that the poor girl probably has an eating disorder. She looks better than me but is more screwed up than me. Yes!

But then I'm thinking WTF Mermaid? Nice one. Get a hold of yourself for God's sake. That's just an evil thing to think  I don't wish an eating disorder on anyone and I don't normally think that way.

So coupled with the fact that someone on EF thinks I sell souls for karma (run your mouse over the green karma hits and see what description you get!) I am now officially the

I edited my original post because I was embarrassed by what I was saying - all the other girls on EF seem so much more together than me and keep this board solely for serious training/diet issues. But this is my log; and my success at my fitness goals is so closely related to my hormones/emotions/personal experiences. I love EF and the ladies on it. I'm definitely going to keep logging and getting things off my chest :) I guess if people don't like to read it, they can unsubscribe this thread!

Amen sista! ;)

Keep at it ! This is your way to track, log, benefit, motivate, support, share and WHATEVER you want to use it for ...

Even though you might not see it as often as you should, your log inspires others ... so not only are YOU growing, you're helping others along their way too ! :)

Saturday 25 November

Woke up as bloated as all hell. Was it all the carbs from yesterday? Pizza? Salt? Um, yes.

Still not a good day to go to the gym. I have to say that I'm missing it - hoping to be better tomorrow - but will keep it light. Now panicking that I won't make the Dec 7 deadline. Health comes first.

8.00am
6 whites, 1 yolk cooked as omelette w/
2 cube feta, 1/2 cup frozen spinach
multi, flax, zinc, 2 levorex, sesamax
750ml water

Met friend for a girly day. P was working.

3-glucorell-r

11.00am
3 pancakes w/ berries, I know, I know
NO maple syrup
1 cappucino

Shopping - 500ml water

Movies - 500ml water, NO crap food

3.30pm
1/2 salmon fillet, grilled
1 cup mixed salad w/ french dressing
shaved pecorino
500ml water
sesamax, 2 levorex

Went home - 1 liter water

It's now 8.00pm and I'm not hungry at all. Still bloated so drinking more water. My body feels funny right now. Need to eat something else, only had ~1000 cals so far.

Absolutely!!!! I think that little story was VERY interesting and if you need to get something off your chest or make a simple observation - spit it out!! Let it fly!

You know, that's so sad about Nicki, I thought she was the "together" one. Paris on the other hand is looking to be a little too far gone to save from a tragic something or other in the future. I'm so happy her TV "pal" (Nicole) got away from her before it happens. Anyway...that's just my take....

Your accident.....was something you couldn't know was going to happen and many of us have been so lucky!!!

I remember when I had my VERY FIRST period. 10 years old....started IN SCHOOL - just used a bunch of tissue in my pants until the end of the day. When the school bus dropped me off at home at the end of the day, I felt a wet sensation on the back of my pants. I had been sitting with my knees up on the back of the seat in front of me chatting with the other kids. Yah, just a little leak. Thankfully, I had brand new DARK blue jeans on at the time, so it looked like water. Oh, I was soooo embarassed. No one said anything to me though, so I think I got away with it - 25 years later and I remember it as if it were yesterday!!!!!

Hope my little story got a chuckle out of you! :)

I think "seem" is the key word mermaid. I know I don't divulge a whole lot of personal stuff in my log just because I'm still new. If people knew what I really thought about my day-to-day life they'd probably be shocked... ;) I just don't always say what I think or feel, at least on here. Personally, I'm a very open person and have no qualms about telling it like it is.

Just remember it's your log - you can say what you like. If you need to let loose - go for it! We're all behind you.

And I also feel for you regarding your "accident." That happened to me my senior year of high school in white shorts. Not only did it go through the shorts, it overflowed the chair onto the floor. YUCK!!! I couldn't show my face for the longest time. But, everyone soon forgot about it. I'm sure just about everyone on here has experienced that at one time or another. Good for you for handling it the way you did!

All you ladies are the BEST!! It' still amazing to me that you can have connections with people that you've never even seen before, be literally on the other side of the world, yet feel like they're your friends.

Last night I managed to eat more egg whites before bed but that didn't raise my macros much. Totals for yesterday:

~1100 cals P:39 C:19 F:42 Fiber:8g (oh dear)

Still don't know about the gym today. My doctor had advised me against it for 7-10 days (I know, silly Mermaid). I think he's right unfortunately so I'll have to start with walking today, like I did last week.

Walking sounds like a nice start, Mermaid. Definitely take the necessary rest you need to recover fully - it's not worth the risk otherwise.

As for your log, I've posted it before, but I really enjoy reading it. You're honest with your emotions and that's hard to do in a public forum. On the up side, it's good to be true to one self and reviewing this log later, you'll know exactly how your feelings correlated to your eating patterns.

I have plenty of evil and nasty thoughts all day long as well, and many days are a struggle where I have to decide whether I want to eat clean or have fun (translates to bars and drinking, especially since I'm single)...so we all go through it. Sometimes I make wise decisions and other times I don't :p, but it's all part of the learning process.

Sunday 27 November

Walked for 30 mins, steady state.

Then this is what I ate during the day:

3 homemade oatmeal pancakes w/ drizzle maple syrup
1 Subway Lo Carb turkey wrap, no cheese/dressing
4oz roast chicken, 1/2 cup green peas, 1 tbsp cranberry sauce

It was very hot today so I tried on a pair of shorts I've not worn in a year AND COULD NOT EVEN DO THEM UP. So what did I do?

2 SCOOPS BASKIN ROBBINS WORLD CLASS CHOCOLATE

Oh, yes, feel much better now

Then felt guilty and just had:

4oz steak for dinner

Still, the macros were:

~1900 cals P:30 C:34 F:36 Fiber:14g

Monday November 28

Happy Monday everyone.

Back to work with a vengeance - I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning.

7.30am
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 slices Performax bread
1 tbsp almond butter

3 cups of strong coffee w/ milk

1.00pm (Feeling very sick)
3/4 cup bran cereal
1/4 cup milk

2.30pm
1 WW tortilla
1/2 cup chicken breast
1/4 cup spinach
2 tbsp hummus
1 liter water

5.30pm
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 tbsp almond butter
1 liter water
multi, flax, zinc, levorex, sesamax

Planning on having at:

7.30pm
4oz pork tenderloin
1 cup asparagus
500ml water

1220 cals P:39 C:31 F:30 Fiber:25g

Tomorrow is going to suck. Have BOTH bosses up for the day including a business meal tomorrow night. Classic; business in trouble so let's take management out to the best restaurant in the area to work out how we can save cash. Going to be so tempting to dose myself with vodka to drown out the bullsh!t. Will most probably break my "alcohol free" run.

It's has been/will be a tough couple of days with work. I have not overeaten though, quite the opposite and obviously no gym.

Now that I seem to have recovered from surgery, I will be back on the program on Thursday.

This post is late but I got utterly bashed from work (and will be incommunicado until Friday) ... but your comment made me think of something ... first of all, you need to remember we ALL have our issues no matter how small or how large, male or female. There isn't a supermodel on earth who can't pick her facial features apart with a magnifying glass.

Ever listen to Billy Joel's song The Stranger?

Well we all have a face
That we hide away forever
And we take them out and
Show ourselves
When everyone has gone
Some are satin some are steel
Some are silk and some are leather
They're the faces of the stranger
But we love to try them on ...

These logs force you to stop being "a stranger" and show everyone what's going on for real. And for it to be successful everyone needs to operate within their comfort zone. It's all a personal journey, and you're doing so beautifully :)!

That's what your log is for. This site, information and the people I have met have changed my life. I love this board & I love the ladies. They are inspiring. This is your log. If you need to vent, then vent. I came back to the Women's Forum (I hang out A LOT in another forum on this board) because I need the additional support (watch out for Miss24k's whip :velvett: ), information, etc. I'm more successful & focused when I'm logging. I also needed to get it back together and control of not only my physical goals but other issues going on.

Good Luck with your goals. :rose:
