Merchant & Shipping Accounts for eBusiness

Does anyone know anything about finding and setting up merchant accounts for eBusiness so that one can accept credit card payments for a web-based business? Thinking small eBusiness with < $10,000 in monthly transactions to start.

Any information about or experience with small business shipping accounts with companies like UPS or FedEx would be greatly appreciated as well.
