so mel gibson, if you haven't heard yet, has another rant out where he loses his shit and says all sorts of crazy stuff.

a guest in an adjoining room taped and published this rant. wouldn't this be considered wiretapping? not sure if where they were has laws or what, but in the us, this would be wiretaping, illegal right? in the us theres 1 and 2 party states for recording phone conversations. as for recording a live conversation, being a member of a conversation and never speaking (being part of a group conversation but having no part to identify you in the recording) is illegal. wonder if my main mel has legal recourse?

Varies by state in the US.

In some states, both parties have to know they are being recorded. In other states, only one party needs to know.

But what is also important is whether he had a reasonable expectation of privacy. If he's screaming at the top of his lungs and it can be heard throughout the surrounding rooms, he's probably surrendered that right to privacy.

Now if the door was cracked and he was speaking in what he thought was a private room at ordinary speaking volumes, he may have a claim to privacy.

So even in a state where both sides have to know they are recorded, people are still welcome to recording you throwing a shit fit at your local Starbucks.

doesn't matter. media will love it and make him out to be a crazy and he'll have no ability to sue cuz it'l give him MORE negative publicity. Last thing he wants. Media knows this.

I think they recorded him in his CR house if so nothing will happen, laws are gucking optional there
