ME exercieses for RAW lifters??

Dane: I am guessing that you are new to powerlifting and not extremely strong yet. The initial push off of the chest is all lats and shoulders, not chest. There is very little chest involvement in a proper bench press.

Is that why I get a 'pump' in my lats on bench day? I guess that is a retorical question.

I use chains on every dynamic bench workout.
What is the reason for chains and not bands?
 
Bands are a lot harder on your body than chains, and it is tough to use bands every week without developing problems, especially in the elbow and shoulder. Ask Jay about that one. I go heavy band plus chain for 3 weeks, light band plus chain for 3 weeks, then just chain for 3 weeks. As I get stronger, I will probably go bands for 3 weeks, chain for 3 weeks, etc.
