Since every one else is doing it, i wanna be cool too so here's a shot of me at 18 or 19 years old, I cant remember for sure. i had already been training for years and was sporting somewhere around 14" arms, sooo huge....

Hell, for 18 or 19 you still look better then most of the kids I see. It's pathetic, no one is willing to get off their ass anymore. Well, almost no one.
 
By that age I had already been busting me ass for at least 4 years, so I had tone but no size. I started at 140lbs, was somewhere in the 150's there, none of it ever came easy
 
Actually I didnt know much about nutrition, proper training, and especially the 5x5 till I got out of college

Thanks, I mainly posted it to show that anyone, no matter how small they start off as, can get there if they want it bad enough. So far I've gone from 140lbs to around 230lbs, and I'm no where near done yet...
 
:D Been waiting a long time to see these. You could tell from the old pic that you were going to blow up someday. Good motivation comparison.

Just realized the difference in your arms. Damn. Mine still look like shit.

The difference in thickness looks like you altered your genetics. A jump from an ecto to a solid meso. Nice

Its amazing how much we grow over the years. I have pictures from 16 and 17, when I was wrestling at the time. I had a well developed upper body, but I has sticks for legs (probably around 18 inches). As a teen, I was certainly a lightweight. At age 14 I weighed a massive 112lbs. At 15, I tipped the scales at 125lbs. At 16, I approached 145lbs, After graduating high school, I weighed 162lbs.

For anyone who is just starting out, be patient. . . .it takes years to develop a body.
 
Thanks guys, and to thaibox for posting them. My arms are actually an inch bigger than they were in that newer chest shot, I just dont have any good recent ones. The funny thing is that people are always hung up on stats and measurements, my arms in the 2nd shot were 17 1/4" cold, but you'd never guess it from looking at them, it's all about proportions...
 
excellent progress man. your before pic kinda reminds me of my own body type. which gives me hope. :D
 
to the guy who said he weighed 145 lbs at 16, i weigh 147 just turned 16 and im a skinny bugger. Don't know how this works but by the avatar on the side you have inspired me
 
this is a really inspirational post dude!

Your old body looks very similar to mine except i am only 17 and 174 lb.
Im guessing you would have considered yourself as an ectomorph with relatively small joints and bone width?

Your change is awesome. Your new pic looks really good and like the man said you look quite mesomorphic.

Gives hope to alot of the ectos out there who dream of having big bodies. GW.

Oh and what are your wriste measurements now coz it loooks as though your have built a up a bit of bone density as well.
 
My wrists are around 7", maybe a bit smaller. I do have a really small frame with small joints; this is a blessing now as it makes everything look much bigger, but I hated it when I was smaller. I was a hardgainer as well, lucky to gain a few lbs a year, but i was consistent and over the years it added up. i do think anyone can do it if they want(and I still have a long way to go), it's all about how bad you want it....
 
Wow! The difference is amazing. All that work definately paid off.

I wieghed 222 pounds at 15 years old. I think I have some pix somewhere. I've always been really big all my life. I cant remember ever wieghing less than 200 pounds either. I have found I can gain muscle easily, but losing fat is rather difficult for me. It takes serious dieting and nutrition for me to shed some fat.

The most i've ever lost was when me and my ex-wife split up. I went from about 240 to 218 in about 3 weeks. I ate maybe once a day and was taking an ECA stack daily. I kept the weight off after we got back together, but then went to Germany for work for 3 months. The only food I really enjoyed over there was Italian and by the time I came home, I was at 243 pounds. Blah.

Wow!!! That is huge. If i saw a 15 year old that big i would freak out.

How tall were you at that age? im guessing your body matured early huh?

If most of that was muscle then you would have been an awesome football player at the time

and for the guys who didnt weigh much at 16,I figure i was about 135-140 then,two yrs later im 182 (weighed tonight) and I have always struggled with diet
 
Hmmm, I wish I had some pics here of me before I started lifting.. I graduated high school in 1996 weighing in at a whopping 135 Pounds at 6 foot tall.. Well now I sit right at 235 Pounds and still my bf% is low enough to see my abs.... So if I can do that anyone can.. Oh and at my highest I was up to 260 the last time I went into a serious bulking mode..
