Maxed my bench for the first time since I started

good job bor, is chest a hard spot for you to gain?

it was for me, every week i keep getting personal bests (that's cuz i'm juicing lol!)

I didn't read your post but I'm assuming you moved up from the pink dumbbells to the 25's.

Just kidding, good work bor. Keep using the progressive resistance.

good job on it.. i found that weighted dips really help to increase a bench max... also a good split wo schedule that involves the chest excersises 2 times a week will do it as well.. dont forget the tris that helps tremendously with the bench.. chest is the easiest for me...

this week i am commuting to a plant 30 minutes north of my normal job

so people see i'm larger than the average engineer

and of course i got the question, how much do you bench

ugh.

i always retort with how the bench press is a poor example of how strong a person truly is.....

But perception is reality for the NFL and most of the gym idiots you meet....combines.

the question just reeks of bodybuilding ignorance, but i can forgive if the person isn't with "it"

I don't.

I say 600 lbs and then stare them dead in the eyes daring them to question me about whether I am telling the truth.

Chest was one of my weakest area. Shit upper body in general. Dips really helped though you are right. I have never been able to bench my weight in my life. Now I'm doing 20 over it. Never really into maxing, just trying to keep my form. I wanted to see what i could do.

i had a guy that i worked out with that really helped me.. he was 2nd in the world for his weight class.. 600+ in vegas and he weighed somewhere around 220... critical bench is a great site to learn from as well.. i would say what i am working out with, but, dont want to be considered in the gay ranks ... haha.. dips is the key to a strong bench for sure.

My bench has always sucked. It's so hard for me to make any progress with it unless I'm on the sauce. It's the first to go when I come off too.

Great job Turd. Keep at it.

You think the reason you don't get any takers might be because their eyes are not located near their groin?

205 three times. After my regular bench workout. Felt really good.

very good!

next time you max, warm up first, and then max. you'll get a much truer indication of what you can do.

if you want to know what you most likely can 1 rep max right now, I can figure that out based on what you can 3rm.

i do. and then i use my "Steel Fingers" technique i learned watching Kung Fu theater and pierce various fruits and vegetables, finishing with me compromising the husk of a watermelon. it's impressive and always leaves them speechless, forgetting all about barbells & rippling muscles....
