Yeah, I posted a thread like this the other day. How did you guys get anywhere on it. I've never tried it and don't plan to, I'm just curious. There are like 8 million people on those things for every metropolitan area I don't understand how you can get anywhere without spending hours upon hours on it.

it's great if you got shitloads of money and want to spend half your week taking out chicks you've never seen before, who are also currently dating 400 guys, out on the town; only to find out everytime when u meet them that they're horribly fat and ugly.
I once went on an internet date eons ago. I met her at the restaurant and yes virginia, she was FAT. The whole night was such a waste. Not only $50 i could've spent on video games -- but 5 hours of giving fake smiles, yelling at myself internaly, and watching the clock hoping to god it'll finally end.
I swore off internet date forever after that incident.

I'm a member of match.com, and so far it's been a waste of time. I live in a rural area, so that hurts me bad on a dating site like that. If you live in a city or metropolitan area then I'd say it's a good thing to try, but almost all of the women who are worth anything are in the cities, and they don't want to travel out of the city for dates. Just my experience in the Phily area, could be different elsewhere.

I've met a lot of truly lovely gentleman (and a few dudes who straight up lied by posting OLD pics), but it has been a looooooong while since I've met anyone that I wanted to go out with again.

I dont really agree.
If a guy has game and manners, he could be butt ugly and get all the play he wants.
I have a hard time meeting guys. Well, not really... what I mean is that I dont send out this big "I want to meet men" vibe... Yes, it is a defense mechanism, but works for me. I'd rather get a very few QUALITY solicitations than to get a truckload of bullshit.
I kindofsortof have a guy. I mean, I THOUGHT I did, then some "issues" got in the way and though I dont really truly WANT to be dating other dudes, until this guy pulls his perverbial head out of his ass, I will go where I want with whom I want. If I meet a quality guy along the way, then it will be the first guy's loss. There is no way in hell I will sit around a minute longer while guy A sits there and tries to figure his shit out. I am way too damned old to play that bullshit.
Not MY choice, but hey... C'est la vie.
Internet dating can be quite a bit of fun if one understands the pitfalls and goes into it with real expectations, just like everything else in life, C'est nes pas?
