Don't think at currently 12% bf(approx.) at 210 you are going to compete at 203. :(

I fathom he's going to attempt to gain muscle mass, somehow.

May be true, but interesting to say the least. The way the post is worded, kind of tough to interpret. He says he is going to "get down to" 210 lbs., don't know what he is at now.

So, I guess we have to assume he is currently heavier than 210 lbs., and taking in 2400 calories as proposed by his diet he posted, don't see much muscle mass being gained. :)

Am I interpeting the post wrong?

Mr. X I would like to know why you prefer egg white protein over whey?

eggs are food protien powder is just a supplemnt

i am currently 221lb guys so competing at 203 is on the cards and i am currently eating 4500 claories a day until about May when i will diet down and consider competing in september time.
The diet i outlined above is for dieting purposes, not mass gaining!!

makes sense to me....at almost 5000cal/day you should be able to gain some good mass.

That post is much more clarified. Thank you. I agree, 4500 calories should be sufficient for mass gain. Approximately 20 cal. per lb. should do nicely.

I apologize for my initial misreading of your post.

I know in the past when I competed I would start out at 217 or so and end up at 185 or so (but that was when I was all natural) Amazing I would lose that much. Would take 12 weeks and then it would come back in like 4!

That diet sounds good and close to what I have done. But how to mix it up for a 12 week cutting cycle? That can get pretty bland and hard to swallow after a month.

Also, could you use say 1-2 tablespoons of Italian dressing made with olive oil or flax seed oil?

I usually mix in a tablespoon of flaxseed into my protein shakes and try to get half of my protein from real food and the other half from supplements.

Has the philosphy on protein per lbf of body weight changed lately? I used to go to 2 grams per pound when cutting and keep my calories at around 2000-2500 and carbs to under 100gms (not an easy thing to do)
