Mass ARRESTS and right here in the US! (It can't happen here, right?!)

That is very levelheaded of you biker...

Hey supernav...if a mexican is deported does he have to worry about being executed by his own goverment? I'm pretty sure an Iranian does...

Frack, I don't know how old you are, but are you aware of the policy that Castro used when he had a violent or mentally disturbed person whom he did not want in his country?

Send on over to the USA. We would welcome him with open arms, as a political refugee from a commie country.

I think it's time we closed our borders and let people in on an invitation only basis.

Thank god we didnt do that when your ancestors came here...in fact, if that was our policy, we wouldnt even have a country..

this is probably less about a need to lock these people up and more trying to get a message across to all those immigrants

nothing says we're an isolationist state like locking up a whole bunch of people that comply with a regulation

while some of them deserve to be locked up temporarily im sure there are guaranteed to be people there who are innocent and who get swallowed up by the system.

scary shit

Again everyone is going to believe what the media is telling them. From what it seems like, they are arresting people that have no legal papers to be here or have comitted crimes. Either way, currently they should be locked up. They will all have a chance to stand a fair trial. If it is true that there were delays in processing their visas (even if it is a delay, they currently have NO papers), the courts will see that and let them go. (This is the state where they let a killer of 2 go free and thought the pledge of allegiance should have god taken out of it) People are arrested and locked up on a daily basis by mistake all the time-you dont see them making a big deal out of it. Our legal system is one of the best, if they are innocent, they will be let go. But the others that have expired visas and shouldnt be here-send them away.

A friend of mine was locked up by accident recently because a mistake. They let him go and he has no beef with them. All of those who are locked up will go and have a fair tral. Its not like their are being immediatly deported without proper due process.

And out of the 500 or 100 people they detained...say they find one person with a link to al queda and were able to expose another Sept 11th type attack...would it then be worth it in your eyes or the thousands of peoples lives that would be saved?

These are some good points and I honestly wish I was more familiar with immigration laws so I could argue better

Perhaps you should just leave the USA (presuming you are american) and then see how great it is elsewhere.

IMO, love it or leave it.

That is the absolute dumbest statement I have heard on here so far...

Love it or leave it?

People in my family have died so your sorry ass can have the right to make comments like this. (It's called freedom and you wouldn't have it if Russia, German, Japan, Iraq, or Iran were running things)

Cherish your freedom OR GET THE FUCK OUT!!!

People like you disgust me.

Yes - They died for freedom of speech.

Many also died in the revolutionary war that founded this country because instead of 'leaving' when they didnt like the laws imposed upon them, they changed things. Which is what this country is all about....not copping out and leaving if you don't like something as you suggest, but working to change it. The only person who benefits from (and probably invented) the statement you made are those in power.

Cherishing your freedom is protecting it. And yes I am 'doing something about it'... or will at least once we get started on our project...and I also fully intend to donate a portion of my income to the libertarian party as soon as I can afford to donate more then 10 bucks a month.

No problems with any of that.

We are all intitled to our opinions, but we have this right at the expense of the blood of our brothers.

Perhaps I sound a little harsh, but I am gonna repel a 1st generation rag head outta this great nation with no second thought at all.
