Martial Arts Help

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question but this seems to be where all the martial artists tend to be.

What exercises would help me improve my marital arts I would like exercises that don't require equipment and that i could do at home.

I do Karate so exercises that help me with Karate in perticular especially points fighting, but all advice is apprechiated.
 
it really depends what you want to develop
what style of karate are you training in?

The fundamental excercises are press ups, sit ups , pull ups, running and plyometrics

If you want fitness then there are certain excercises and routines
if u want explosiveness then plyometric excercises
if you want strength then you can do pressups and sit ups in a special way

let me know as I'm a junior thai and kickboxing instrucotor aswell as a fighter and i know some pretty decent routines
 
I want fitness, strength and flexability, but just post as many routines as you can because i'm sure I'll be able to use them one way or another. I train in E.W.S.K.A Wada-Ryu Karate
 
K well you have pushups:

Normal pushups
Hands wide pushups (works the chest more)
Thumbs touching pushups (Your thumbs touch so you work ur triceps)
Single hand pushups (we've all seen rocky ;) )
Hindu Pushups/Waving forward pushups
This is one of Matt Furey's favourite pushups. Basically check this site out

Now for more strength you can do 3 stage pushups
You start on the floor flat then you lift yourself an inch off the floor, hold for a count of 5 then go half way up and again hold then extend ur arms fully, hold for 5 then go back half way, hold then back an inch... without your chest touching the floor you repeat

That will give you a good upperbody strength workout

For more dynamic, explosive movements, you'll wanna try clapping pressups This is when you do a pushup and instead of coming up normaly, you launch yourself so your hands are not supporting you. You clap and then touch the floor very quickly for support. Make sure you wrists are strong for this one... You can attempt double claps too but trust me, be careful. One of my students broke her nose cos she wasn't fast enough
